Had a great brunch at The Refectory Cafe! The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is super friendly. I especially love those flowers!! Such a thoughtful touch that really brightens my mood. We ordered the Carolina Cobb, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and a Strawberry Smoothie. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend

beautiful aesthetic, friendly service and great tasting food.
i had the short rib huevos rancheros and my wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes. with bacon and grits. everything was fresh, hot and tasty. will def. be coming back.

Delicious Farm to table breakfast! Everything was fresh and amazing quality. We walked in without a reservation (just 2 of us) and they gave us a time we needed to be out by lol was just kind of weird? Other than that everything was wonderful! Maybe just would recommend making a reservation 😉

I absolutely loved The Refectory Café! From the moment I walked in, the place just felt right—warm, inviting, and full of great energy. The atmosphere is perfect: cozy yet vibrant, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger over your meal. Whether you're inside or on the patio (highly recommend if the weather's nice), it’s one of those spots where everything just clicks.
The service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being over-the-top. Our server made us feel right at home and was super knowledgeable about the menu.
As for the food? Spot on in every way. The portions were generous and satisfying without being overwhelming, and the flavors were fresh, bold, and perfectly balanced. Everything tasted homemade and high-quality. What really stood out to me was how well they handle dietary needs—the vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful, creative, and every bit as delicious as the rest of the menu. No afterthoughts here; it’s clear they put real thought and care into making sure everyone can enjoy an amazing meal from the same kitchen.
Overall, The Refectory Café is a gem. Great food, fantastic service, and a wonderful atmosphere make it a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the Durham area (or making a special trip from Charlotte!). Highly recommend—5 stars all the way! 🌱🍽️
