We had a lovely outdoor dining experience this week at The Refectory. It was our fifth time to eat there over the years and it never disappoints. We had an excellent waiter in Jared last night who was just the right amount of attentive and fun. The food was so so good and they easily met my husbands g free and dairy free requirements. We even had our dog with us for the first time and she got a nice clean bowl of iced water. We never miss a chance to eat here when we are in Durham and wish there was one were we live! Great job Refectory!

I had the shrimp and grits for the first time, and it was DELICIOUS! My daughter had the Cobb Salad, and my friend had the French Toast, we enjoyed everything!

Made reservations for a larger party for brunch and our table was set for us before we arrived. Be aware you do have to go to the counter to order or order on your phone. We ordered and our food arrived quickly. Everyone really enjoyed what they got. I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and it was delicious!
Will definitely come back.

Wow! We had seen The Refectory Cafe on Out and About so we decided to check it out. It was fantastic! I had the Crab Cake Burger with a side of veggies, delicious! I loved the sriracha aioli (not too hot), the fennel and pepper slaw, and the crab cake was loaded with fresh herbs. I appreciate veggies as a side option, and they were perfectly cooked. My husband had the French Dip and chips, also delicious. Good ciabatta bread, and a nice mix of light, crisp chips. They have a nice selection of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Will definitely be going back next time we're in Durham!

Soo guys, we were in the area looking for a good Sunday brunch and stumbled up on this place! The food wasn’t nothing to write home about, but it wasn’t bad by any means! The mimosa flight was pretty cool! Defiantly served the purpose, I can’t say I’d be back but hey who knows🤷🏽♂️
Ps, I’m really wasn’t a fan of the ordering system, nothing beats a waiter assisting you.
JUST GO THERE &.
TRY IT YOURSELF, SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK WITH ME! HOPE YOU ENJOY✌🏽

We have been meaning to try this cafe and were pleased that we did. We ate lunch outside on a lovely day. There was quite a bit of road noise, but still pleasant. The spicy shrimp salad was excellent. We will be back to try the dinner menu.

Great cafe for brunch in Durham! I got the smoked salmon eggs benedict and loved it. Also got the rosemary cheddar scone, which was good but wish it was heated up since I ate it at the restaurant. They were accommodating even though they were pretty busy, so we were able to get a table even though it was a Sunday brunch. My only concern was that the vegan options were a bit lackluster (for my cousin, not for me), and really just between the tofu scramble and the vegan pancakes. I would definitely come again!!

Your local food spot! Very home-ish feeling, great outside decor. Ample parking lot. It is not your upscale white table cloth restaurant but it fills your tummy with deliciousness and homemade staples... Not my favorite tomato bisque, but the chicken and dumpling soup was good! Shrimp and grits was also creamy and delicious! The desserts are worth trying and falling off the diet wagon for a day... The chocolate mousse was silky and delicious! Lunch is what we had, but their dinner menu was also interesting! Pick up a menu upon entering, order and pay for your meal at the counter and a server will bring it to you. Give it a try!
