Shayda made the desserts for our wedding in November and did an absolutely amazing job! I ordered three 10" cakes, a macaroon tower, baby pumpkins, and baby apples which were a custom request. Everything was delicious and stunning! She let me bring in some of the flowers I feel for my wedding to decorate the cakes with and they looked so beautiful. We got so many compliments on the desserts!!

I ordered macarons from Sweets by Shayda for my cousin’s birthday, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish. Shayda was very easy to work with, as she's incredibly responsive, professional, and proactive with her communication. She even reached out to let me know when the order was on its way for delivery, which I truly appreciated since I’m in Scottsdale and my cousin is in Durham, NC.
The macarons were absolutely delicious and beautifully packaged. They made my cousin’s birthday even more special, and she loved them so much that she said she’ll be a regular customer going forward. As for me, Sweets by Shayda is officially my go-to bakery in the Durham area for gifts and special occasions. Highly recommend! -
I went here because it was close to the restaurant I visited for lunch. I got three things. When I walked up to the counter, they had some items I wasn’t sure what they were, but I liked the presentation. The ladies behind the counter were nice and explained what the items were. One was a slice of carrot cake, which might be the nicest-looking slice of carrot cake I’ve ever seen, so I got that.
The other two items I can’t remember the names of, but I’ll include a photo.
That said, the carrot cake was incredibly delicious. A lot of things were done right with that carrot cake. The pink ball next to the carrot cake was also pretty good. The item that came in the box by itself, I didn’t really care for. It looked better than it tasted, and I think it might be an acquired taste. I think the fruit inside was just frozen i'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that or not but I didn't care for it. Overall 2 out of 3 isnt bad. -
Seriously one of my most favorite spots here in Durham. We are new to the city and visiting Shayda's shop is a weekly experience that can't be missed! Its ok if you are not a sweet treat person because the croissants are on par with some bakeries I visited in Paris! Check it out and support a woman owned and operated business, gorgeous atmosphere and kind staff. ✨️💕😋

I called in desperate for a rush order with only a 2-day turnaround for my partner’s graduation after completely dropping the ball and forgetting to order a cake ahead of time. I gave them basically zero direction, and somehow they delivered what was honestly one of the best cakes I’ve ever had for our group of 8 without even batting an eye.
I had already called 3 other places and even driven around trying to find someone who could help, but this shop absolutely crushed it. The cake looked incredible, tasted amazing, and everyone at the celebration loved it. Seriously gorgeous work and outstanding service from start to finish. Highly recommend!
