I went to go visit my neighborly Church. Into be honest with you it was wonderful I was late. But it was beautiful. The pastor is very straightforward about preaching the word of God. And if you ever want to talk to him just go up to him and he will greet you like anybody else. The pastures are very loving and so are the people if you let them. Don't be shy to introduce yourself if you are new please. Don't lose the opportunity to get to know wonderful loving kind people -
One would be hard pressed to find an exceptional Episcopal parish like St. Luke's, as it checks all the boxes as superior: hospitality, liturgy, preaching and music. The rector, Greg Farrand, is a stellar preacher/teacher, and with the renown organist, David Arcus, at the bench and as choir director, the music is heavenly! This is such a welcoming, warm and genuine faith community. -
St. Luke's is a loving and welcoming fellowship for all who seek a liberal Christian community. Our new rector is brimming with enthusiasm to bring the inclusive, redemptive message of Christ's love. Members of the St. Luke's community engage every day with members of the greater Durham community in efforts such as fundraisers which donate proceeds to Durham nonprofits, support for refugee rehousing, and food distribution to our neighbors. It's a place to live your faith alongside others. -
Attended their Christmas Eve worship while visiting Durham over the holiday. Beautiful sanctuary, wonderful music and liturgy. Fortunate to see Children's retelling of the Story. Would attend Sunday worship if ever in Durham on weekend. -
I am from Maryland and visiting my son at Duke Hospital. I needed to talk with some friendly folks and plan my Christmas service in Durham. The 8 AM service on Sunday was fine, but not one person spoke to me at coffee. The folks there seemed very unfriendly.
