Small, intimate, cozy.
Not crowded. Not many amenities.
Just you and the event.
Kind of like if you threw a concert for all your best friends about 50 in your living room or your garage.
I'll definitely try to book my next show there. -
This is a great community space for movies, live music and art shows. It is also a business where you can film a music video or other professional films.

Shadowbox is by far my favorite production space in Durham for photo, video, and performative creative sessions.
Shadowbox is an extremely well-run, large flexible space that provides ample room for all my creative needs -- at a reasonable (if not cheap) rate. Some studios in Durham and Raleight charge for 2-3 hours what Shadowbox charges for all day use of the space.
The space is clean and thoughtfully equipped with high quality light stands, a cyclorama, seating, and basic studio grip support. With Shadowbox, I never have to worry about having a client show up to a studio that is dirty, cluttered with unexpected decor, or full of broken furniture with signs warning not to touch/move/use (that's happened at multiple spaces in the Triangle and Triad).
Creature comforts like functional air conditioning, fast wifi, a roll-up door, a clean restroom, a comfy lobby, built-in-speakers, a cold beverage fridge, and cleaning gear go above and beyond other creative spaces in the area. (Beyond the ease of the roll up door, I love the fact thta I do't have to carry my gear up flights of stairs.)
Check-in is easy and low-stress, if you read the emails and communicate with the owners about when you expect to arrive. Check out is a breeze. The space is much more secure than a lot of places that have a easily-picked keybox and the area is safe, even when packing out lots of expensive equipment late at night.
On top of all of that, they are a fantastic event venue for music and cinematic events.
