Sew Joyful is great! I took the 4 week Beginner Sewing course and am signed up to take the 4 week Joggers course.
The classes feel very casual and fun, but she structures the activities to ensure you learn a lot of different skills that build on each other each class and get enough repetition so the knowledge sticks. I feel very prepared to set up a machine and sew on my own!

I have taken the first two beginner classes with Sew Joyful and am about to take another class on clothing alterations. I really think these classes are absolutely perfect if you're interested in sewing but feeling intimidated by the machine and all the skills you need to know. Markea does an incredible job making everything extremely approachable, and always provides you with little victories in the projects that you create.
It's honestly impressive that she can take a room full of total amateurs through the steps of a small project from start to finish in the time that she does, and always makes it fun and limits any frustration points. Feeling frustrated is such a common way for beginner sewists to be bounced off the hobby, and Markea rarely lets that happen in her classes. I was able to take what I built in my beginner classes and spread my own wings and take my skills further on my own, but I'm excited to join another class finally just because it's a great environment and I've honestly missed getting to spend time with Markea and fellow beginner sewists.

I took the alterations course and I’m so thankful I did. I’m a beginner sewer and I can now hem pants, take in a waist, and taper in wide leg pair of pants. I learned so much and Markea is wonderful. I would definitely recommend !

I've taken both the beginner sewing and the advanced starter sewing classes and they have been nothing short of wonderful. Markea is such a great instructor. She's personable, funny, and has lots of patience for any questions or confusion! She also has very cute fabric options for all projects. I recommend Sew Joyful to anyone I talk to who's looking to learn how to sew. I can't wait to take the garment class next!

I’ve never sewn before but wow, I learned a lot! Markea made it easy and fun. No stress, all mistakes were fixable and I was able to overcome my fear of sewing. I sewed several useful items, some I kept and others turned out to be worthy gifts. Great location with easy parking, I highly recommend Sew Joyful.

I enjoyed my sewing experience so much, l had not sewn in years so I started with beginners sewing 1, then moved to the advance starter class. I was so motivated after that I did private lessons and in the process made 2 dresses . I enjoyed everything about this experience and has renewed my passion for sewing. I highly recommend Sew Joyful

This has been such a wonderful experience. The instructor is so patient and knowledgeable. I am always amazed at what I've created by the end of our class. I would highly recommend taking these classes as either a beginner or if you're brushing up your sewing skills. I feel so empowered and confident after a class!

On Saturday, February 15th, I took a group of teenage girls for a sewing class with no idea of what to expect. We had an amazing time. Markea was engaging, attentive, and the mix of fun and guidance that was needed for us all to successfully complete our projects. I would highly recommend anyone who is even remotely interested in sewing to take her class.

If you’ve been thinking about signing up for a sewing class but have been hesitant (or just keep putting it off), I highly encourage you to sign up for Markea’s classes at Sew Joyful. She is an incredible instructor who not only knows the ins and outs of sewing but is cheerful, incredibly kind and organized, enthusiastic, and will bend over backward to help you. Best decision I made was signing up for her classes (three of them), and I’m looking forward to taking more in the new year.

Sew Joyful Teaching is THE place to learn how to sew. The instructor is so patient and kind with people of all abilities and experience levels. She's quick to lend aid and even quicker to provide positive feedback and well - Joy! I've never sewn with a machine before and she took me from zero experience to finishing projects in 90 minutes! It's safe to say I'll be taking more classes here in the future. Thank you for teaching me!

I had an amazing time at sew joyful! The teacher was funny, knowledgeable and made something new for me easy to understand. I started with something simple( pillow) but they’re more advanced classes as well! I hope to eventually make a sweatshirt one day as she teaches me more over time.
