I am OBSESSED with my hair. First time at this salon and KC absolutely nailed it. I have not stopped touching my hair since I got home, and for the first time in years I am genuinely excited about it.
KC truly listened and was thoughtful, intentional, and precise. They gave me the exact haircut I have been asking for forever. After years of disappointing haircuts, I did not realize how unhappy I had been until now. I feel overwhelmed and overjoyed.
A part of me that has felt broken for years finally feels healed. KC is a gem.

I had such a wonderful experience with Skyler at Rock Paper Scissors in Durham. She really listened to what I wanted and made me feel completely comfortable the entire time. I especially appreciated that she didn’t force conversation. It felt calm, respectful, and very attuned to my energy, which made the appointment genuinely relaxing.
She took her time, paid attention to the details, and the result was exactly what I hoped for. I’ve gotten so many compliments since, and I honestly feel so good about my hair. Thank you, Skyler, for such a thoughtful and affirming experience. I’ll absolutely be back!

I went to Rock Paper Scissors for the first time a couple of weeks ago. After having done some research, I found Destiny, who knows how to cut curly hair. She honestly is a miracle worker! My hair has been so blah and uncooperative and she made it look good again! I showed her two inspo photos and we went with the one that made more sense for my hair. She told me exactly how and why she was cutting my hair. Then she helped me out with new products and how to use them. The best part is that my hair is now super easy to maintain AND it looks good even when I haven't been to the stylist. I'm so thankful I found Destiny and would HIGHLY recommend her, especially for the curly and wavy haired people out there!

I love my hair by Skyler! She definitely listened to what I wanted while giving me honest advice on the state of my hair when I asked! Would definitely recommend. I got a haircut with glaze and it turned out sooo pretty. I read my book during most of the hair appt and she seemed cool with that :). The glaze pigment needed a little extra time and product to soak into my hair and Skyler did a great job at noticing that and giving me a luxury experience! Thanks again!

Feeling nervous, I went to get a haircut at RPS because it was recommended by a friend. I had not had a professional haircut since 2022. Making an appointment online was very easy. My stylist was Mal who was great! He made sure I was comfortable, kept checking in with me, cut, washed and styled my hair. I am very happy with his work and will return to get my hair cut again. There was no need for me to be nervous.

Everything about the service I received at Rock Paper Scissors Salon was amazing. After 2 months, I still love how my hair turned out. Mal really listened to what I was looking for in a balayage and did such an amazing job with placement and color. I have pretty fine hair and Mal managed to give me the PERFECT color without damaging my hair at all…and at a reasonable price! I’d give 10 stars if I could!

I went to Rock, Paper, Scissors faithfully back in 2011-2012, moved away, and recently moved back ... and it's still just as good as ever. New location, different stylists, same great vibe and overall positive experience. It's good to have a great place to return to! (I had also chopped off the back of my hair myself a few days prior to the cut and was a bit embarrassed about showing up for this appointment, booked to try to fix what I'd done, and there was no shame or shade, just good conversation and some strategy about what to do with what I'd managed to chop myself and how to move forward.) I'm super happy with my hair!

I went to get a haircut earlier this day and there're no words to describe how happy I was! Mal was extremely professional and he was even able to save my bangs after I cut them a bit too short. I also got some tips how to deal with my stubborn cowlick.
The atmosphere was great and no one made a big fuss about me being almost 10 minutes late (for which I, once again, apologize). Highly recommend!

This place feels so relaxing and the staff are so nice! I got a cute cut for a great cost. Micheal was my stylist and he did an amazing job working with my hair! Definitely coming back for touch-ups!

Suzanne is exceptional. I’ve seen her for maybe a year and I have never had so many people compliment my hair. She is not necessarily a “curl expert “ but she does really well with my curly hair wavy hair and the tell is how good the cut grows out. I used to wear ponytails starting halfway between cuts but with Suzanne I can wear it down all the time and it has excellent shape. She listens to me but also explains what her thought process is and will stop me if I’m asking for contradictory things. She is definitely a gem and I’m so glad I found her.

Michael cut and styled my hair and it came out so pretty. I'm almost 62 and use a walker and he was so kind and gentle. Everyone at the salon made me feel welcome. RPS is the best!

It’s been ages since I last got my hair cut. My curls are notoriously temperamental and always shrink up when they’re cut. Destiny was incredibly supportive and accommodating, taking the time to understand my preferences and ensuring that my curls would curl up perfectly. She patiently answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. I’m so glad I found this salon and will definitely be returning!

I went to see Liz for a curly girl hair cut and came home all smiles! I was transitioning from long hair to short and was very nervous about it. Liz listened to my concerns and gave me exactly the cut I was looking for! This is also the best reasonable priced shop I could find for a curly cut! Salon was clean and comfy!
