I think Plant Mama's / Da Kine's is one of the greatest things about Durham. I love walking in to Plant Mama's and talking with Kari or Izzy. Both are incredibly warm, welcoming and most of all knowledgeable. I can go into the shop and know that they have my health and well being at heart. Kari (short brown hair) is kind and an amazing listener. It's one of the places in Durham that I know I will be seen, heard, and respected. They are concerned with the experience I have with them in the store rather than just trying to sell a product. I appreciate the way they support local artists and vendors. No matter what mood I'm in, I always walk out of Plant Mama's/ Da Kine's with the feeling of authentic and genuine connection with any staff with whom I interact. In such politically divisive times, it's refreshing to find a small business like Plant Mama's/Da Kine's that creates a welcoming atmosphere of kindness and genuine connection for everyone who walks through their door.

I frequent Plant Mamas for high quality kratom powders and CBD products. I spoke with Izzy and her explanations of the mechanisms of action and uses of cannabis products helped me a lot! Beautiful shop and very knowledgeable staff ! I really appreciate how they helped me find exactly what I needed, even though I had a lot of complicated questions. A large selection of books and some decor as well. This is my new favorite shop for bud, CBD and vapes. Having Da Kines kava next door is a major plus.

Best dispensary I've ever gone to. Most places are hit or miss, but this place never misses. Bree has helped me pick out my selection on multiple occasions and is a pleasant person to talk to. All the staff know about their products well and know how to explain them to customers. Have been going here regularly ever since I started working across the street and it's been the best experience. Definitely made a regular out of me!
