Came for dinner on a meatless Monday for the vegan options. That night they had curry, cilantro rice, and sweet coconut rolls I believe. The food was very good. The space to eat was not clean and kind of grossed me out. Part of it was people not cleaning up after themselves, part was dead flies laying on a table and all around the window. Not exactly what you want to look at when you’re eating. Next time I’ll probably eat outside. Lots of great products you can’t find everywhere. Updated to add that each visit after my first has been much cleaner in the eating area - no flies!

In this day and age, it is easier and easier to avoid contributing to the growth and improvement of our communities. The Durham Co-op Market provides an excellent way to change that. Offering commonly needed items like food, drinks, and body care products, for significantly cheaper prices than major supermarkets, the Market is a great place to shop for those looking to help bolster the place they call home.

Great food, reasonable prices (don't you always get what you pay for?) and super friendly staff! My happy place!

Great little co-op with lots of healthy options and excellent prices. Prepared food is also available. Friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere. There is outdoor seating, lunch and dinner specials, and regular specials for co-op members. I 💖 Durham co-op!

I love the fresh faces the food is really good and well cared for I like that the water station is clean this is personal but I like great food and a clean store. Thank you for the warm greetings. And inquiring about my day I feel truly part of the fabric of Durham when I am in the co-op. A particularly touching moment was seeing an elderly man in fruit and produce as his family came in and sang Happy birthday to him his wife his children his grandchildren it was great to see the generational interaction and love.

I go here a lot. Love it! They have sales on items that are usually overpriced at Whole Foods. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options. It’s walking distance from Durham’s downtown and apartments. My only qualm is that the cashier service isn’t great. The workers seem like they hate their jobs and are inconvenienced. Maybe I’m just used to friendly customer service.

This is a good neighborhood grocery store. However, some of the prices are a bit high. $9 a loaf for gluten free bread is a bit ridiculous. However, the coffee is great. They have a nice selection of smoothies, pastries and hot bar items. I particularly like the fact that they celebrate Hanukkah and kwanza. They also help the community a lot through donations to urban ministries of Durham. I have always received excellent service from the staff. I just wish that some of the staples and snacks were less pricey. Usually gluten free bread runs between 5-6 dollars.

Nice to have a grocery store in this area as there are not many other choices. They do have nice produce and decent selection of products with a nice coffee bar and kombucha on draft. It is a little small so not as much choice is available. Staff are very friendly and welcoming which is a nice thing add it means you feel comfortable shopping here. Parking is good with a nice big lot so no problems accessing the store. They do have a nice picnic table area or front as well.

$3 meal was great value for money. Products on sale are tad on the expensive side. Whole foods is comparatively cheaper with wider range of choice.

This Co-op is in a very diverse area. Not far from Duke University. I love that they sell products from local businesses and manufacturers. I've never had any issues with the people who work there, nor the people who shop there. Their location is a bit far from where I live. So I'll give them 4 stars.

The Durham Co-Op is my happy place! A wonderful selection that changes and entices me with something new each visit. Also everything I try is fantastic! The co-op is also ureasonably well priced, I don't know how they manage it but it's appreciated because I want to try everything in this place! 😍

Great dinners (especially $3 dinner night on Thursday!), awesome staff, and solid range of affordable, often local, quality groceries. Doing their part to make Durham better through community partnerships as well. Check them out!

Small and easy to manage. They let me use my own jars (have them get the tare first!) for bulk items and it’s nice to find local cheese here. The local apples they have from about August through December are the best prices anywhere. My only improvement is that I would like for them to continue to grow their bulk foods and spices selection and keep it stocked. I’ve been able to cut down on so many plastic bags and waste by bringing my own jars and reusable produce bags and filling them with their bulk items.

I'm a big fan of the co-op. I can get in and out fast, it has most of what I need, and the prices aren't bad for most items. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Durham's co-op is great!

Love their free Wednesday wine tastings, and the fact that you can have $3 glasses of the wines being showcased that week. Makes for a cheap date (but still cute) to do the tasting and then take a glass outside to a picnic table and drink under the string lights.

The Co-op is doing an amazing job with public safety and health concerns. Everyone was wearing a mask and keeping good distance. They have a fantastic mix of local goods and hard-to-find niche vegan items. I love the Co-op! I look forward to when events can happen again.
