The Durham Co-op Market was founded in 2007 and opened its doors on West Chapel Hill St. in March 2015, with the mission of creating a neighborhood co-op grocery store where everyone is welcome.

LOVE this place. Organic Natural Clean ✨️ so easy for me to shop here. The meaning behind this place is so purposeful. I have a membership and I don't like shopping anywhere else. I always come here first when I do my shopping.

Wow! This place is amazing and i love that everything here is local. Such a friendly staff. The produce section is awesome. We had to stop to get sushi for my daughter. They also offer MTO menu. Nice parking and outdoor seating area.

Nice to have a grocery store in this area as there are not many other choices. They do have nice produce and decent selection of products with a nice coffee bar and kombucha on draft. It is a little small so not as much choice is available. Staff are very friendly and welcoming which is a nice thing add it means you feel comfortable shopping here. Parking is good with a nice big lot so no problems accessing the store. They do have a nice picnic table area or front as well.

First, I love the fact that you can get fresh bread from a number of different local bakeries. That alone is worth the visit. While I do still love this store, I have been saddened by recent changes that remove its special vibe. This is a small, community, local, independent store — I want to support it. And I will continue to do so if they return to their prior policies emphasizing local produce and local products, organic, vegetarian and vegan options, and highly curated imports such as some of their excellent cheese selection. Recent decisions have reduced the amount of local products, removed option of paper bags in produce section, has largely replaced the vegan cooler section with low quality mass market pre-sliced plastic packaged cheeses (what?!?). Also the bulk bin area often has empty bins. You are a special store with a fantastic mission! I love that there are still local cheeses, local breads, local produce and other local products here — emphasize this proudly! Reduce mass market items and stay eco-friendly. We are your loyal customers!

It's just a great place for the unusual or top shelf items you might need in preparing a great meal at home. Very laid back & homey there.
