Wow! This place is amazing and i love that everything here is local. Such a friendly staff. The produce section is awesome. We had to stop to get sushi for my daughter. They also offer MTO menu. Nice parking and outdoor seating area. Loved it!

Great place to buy beer! They have sales on items so do some digging. Great shopping environment! Nice and peaceful! The hot foods section smelled amazing but was not open, yet, when I shopped there.

This has become my go-to grocery store. Do they have everything? No... But hey have most things, and many of their items are from very local sources. The prices are reasonable for the quality, and I can regularly find my favorite items on sale too. Best of all, I truly feel like the co-op has the local community's interest in mind, so I want to support them as best I can.

I love the fresh faces the food is really good and well cared for I like that the water station is clean this is personal but I like great food and a clean store. Thank you for the warm greetings. And inquiring about my day I feel truly part of the fabric of Durham when I am in the co-op. A particularly touching moment was seeing an elderly man in fruit and produce as his family came in and sang Happy birthday to him his wife his children his grandchildren it was great to see the generational interaction and love. Missing some of my favorite people old favorites.

Overall good selection of local, fresh, organic food. Some produce can be old looking. Is a little pricey on some items. nice local meat department and bread from local bakeries

Nice selection in a compact space. Great for natural foods and organic produce, only downside is that you do need to be prepared to pay a bit extra for the quality.

This is a nice co-op. It's in a very convenient location and though small it has a decent selection. The produce section is stocked very nicely with locally sourced produce, and they actually have a killer beer selection. They offer a lot of pre-made meals which is great, however the sandwiches my husband and I purchased were a little lackluster, especially for the price. If I lived in that area and needed a few things here and there, I would stop in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here.

It's a very nice store to shop at but I had a very uncomfortable expiernce using there bathrooms the janitor knocked and I kept saying there was someone in there and he rattled the door handle and pulled out his keys to open the door and I had to leave.. maybe he just had bad hearing ... Do better.

I come here if and only if I need to fill up my purified water tanks. Pricing is otherwise kind of expensive, but I guess that's what you should expect for a local co-op. The friendliness of staff is very polarizing. Some members of their team are extremely kind and inviting. Other interactions... not so much. Let's just say I've seen happier correspondence at the DMV.

One of my favorite places in Durham. Not overpriced, healthy, fresh, local foods, supplements, body care, and gifts, and the cashiers will make your day. Support this important institution and become a member!

It is definitely a pricey place, but we were eligible for their store discount thru their program and enjoy 20% off. They could improve a little on internal communication, as we came a few times to pick up a special order and nobody knows where it is, but with a little bit of patience it always works out.

Only up here for the day, however have been here before a few times. Employees are always very nice, the place is always clean and not missing items, and if you want organic or natural groceries, this is a great place to go in durham. I would recommend that you shop here for any of your needs grocery wise.

Good quality produce and organic local products that help the community and make for a great meal. Seeing as this is an all local and organic operation, the prices are a bit high but are compensated by the great customer service and delicious foods.

Good assortment of organic and local foods. Can be pricey, but that is the cost of supporting local farmers who aren't part of super corporations. Craft beers are cool and tasty. Staff is friendly. Good range of fresh produce. Lots of vegetarian and vegan meats and cheeses.

We visit Durham to my in laws and have always shopped at the co-op. Love it! They have a great management from what we could experience and the mask policy which they do implement. Happy to support local shop.

Health conscious. I am eager to see what they are like when they are allowed to have all of the the fun stuff like the olive bar open. A bit spendy for me to do my regular shopping there, but OK for once in a while treats, like fresh bread, local produce and a good cheese variety. Desserts look interesting. Definitely a splurge. YOLO?

The Co-op is doing an amazing job with public safety and health concerns. Everyone was wearing a mask and keeping good distance. They have a fantastic mix of local goods and hard-to-find niche vegan items. I love the Co-op! I look forward to when events can happen again.

Love their free Wednesday wine tastings, and the fact that you can have $3 glasses of the wines being showcased that week. Makes for a cheap date (but still cute) to do the tasting and then take a glass outside to a picnic table and drink under the string lights.

I'm a big fan of the co-op. I can get in and out fast, it has most of what I need, and the prices aren't bad for most items. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Durham's co-op is great!

Small and easy to manage. They let me use my own jars (have them get the tare first!) for bulk items and it’s nice to find local cheese here. The local apples they have from about August through December are the best prices anywhere. My only improvement is that I would like for them to continue to grow their bulk foods and spices selection and keep it stocked. I’ve been able to cut down on so many plastic bags and waste by bringing my own jars and reusable produce bags and filling them with their bulk items.

Great dinners (especially $3 dinner night on Thursday!), awesome staff, and solid range of affordable, often local, quality groceries. Doing their part to make Durham better through community partnerships as well. Check them out!

Nice to have a grocery store in this area as there are not many other choices. They do have nice produce and decent selection of products with a nice coffee bar and kombucha on draft. It is a little small so not as much choice is available. Staff are very friendly and welcoming which is a nice thing add it means you feel comfortable shopping here. Parking is good with a nice big lot so no problems accessing the store. They do have a nice picnic table area or front as well.

This Co-op is in a very diverse area. Not far from Duke University. I love that they sell products from local businesses and manufacturers. I've never had any issues with the people who work there, nor the people who shop there. Their location is a bit far from where I live. So I'll give them 4 stars.

$3 meal was great value for money. Products on sale are tad on the expensive side. Whole foods is comparatively cheaper with wider range of choice.

This is a good neighborhood grocery store. However, some of the prices are a bit high. $9 a loaf for gluten free bread is a bit ridiculous. However, the coffee is great. They have a nice selection of smoothies, pastries and hot bar items. I particularly like the fact that they celebrate Hanukkah and kwanza. They also help the community a lot through donations to urban ministries of Durham. I have always received excellent service from the staff. I just wish that some of the staples and snacks were less pricey. Usually gluten free bread runs between 5-6 dollars.

I go here a lot. Love it! They have sales on items that are usually overpriced at Whole Foods. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options. It’s walking distance from Durham’s downtown and apartments. My only qualm is that the cashier service isn’t great. The workers seem like they hate their jobs and are inconvenienced. Maybe I’m just used to friendly customer service.

In this day and age, it is easier and easier to avoid contributing to the growth and improvement of our communities. The Durham Co-op Market provides an excellent way to change that. Offering commonly needed items like food, drinks, and body care products, for significantly cheaper prices than major supermarkets, the Market is a great place to shop for those looking to help bolster the place they call home.

Came for dinner on a meatless Monday for the vegan options. That night they had curry, cilantro rice, and sweet coconut rolls I believe. The food was very good. The space to eat was not clean and kind of grossed me out. Part of it was people not cleaning up after themselves, part was dead flies laying on a table and all around the window. Not exactly what you want to look at when you’re eating. Next time I’ll probably eat outside. Lots of great products you can’t find everywhere.Updated to add that each visit after my first has been much cleaner in the eating area - no flies!

Great local & organic foods, as well as a wide variety of vegan & gluten free foods! The locally produced grass-fed ground beef has a much better flavor than most store-bought ground beef, & it's leaner; makes amazing burgers! Local eggs (from Hillsborough) are fresh & delicious, & seldom will you find a cracked egg in the carton. A great selection of locally baked breads & cakes is displayed, & there's a very good selection of beers & wines. Great selection of vitamins, supplements, & beauty/skin care products, too!

Relatively small market, with a good selection of grocery items. Prices are high, but what you’d expect at a co-op. Food bar was really lacking in options.. but may be due to a renovation project. Probably atypical? Outside seating area, although covered, was muddy and unusable, at least not with kiddos.
