The ONLY Mayflower in North Carolina Worth Your Time!
I've tried numerous Mayflower Seafood locations across North Carolina over the years, and let me be absolutely clear: NO ONE compares to the Chapel Hill location.
The food here is consistently amazing. They serve up classic Southern fried seafood exactly the way it should be—fresh, perfectly crisp, and never greasy. Whether it’s the shrimp, the oysters, or the flounder, the quality is always top-notch and truly delicious.
I treat this Chapel Hill location as its own unique restaurant because the quality, consistency, and overall experience set it miles apart from the rest. If you're craving Mayflower-style seafood, skip the others and make the drive to this one. You won't be disappointed.
This is the only Mayflower I recommend, and it has my highest approval.

We have eaten at several Mayflowers. This is the best we have had anywhere - Winston Salem, Henderson NC, Raleigh. The food was hot and fresh, hush puppies had not been re-fried and we're not heavy with grease. Restarant was clean. Waiter was attentive. We will go back. Highly recommend. We were there at 4:30

I’ve been a Mayflowers customer for years!! I typically order fried flounder and shrimp but a friend suggested I try their boiled salmon and it was delicious!!! I’m hooked on this dish at least for the remainder of the year. Also this post is long overdue the service is excellent! The food is reasonably priced and delicious!! Oh I also ask for my fish to be salt and peppered fried. Ummm ummm good.

Pretty solid lunch special. Really wish they had real butter for the baked potato. The hush puppies are a million times better than the one on Capital boulevard in Raleigh

I was there for a group meeting. They accommodated us with every request and in quick fashion. Food served quickly and no mistakes for a group of about 20. Huge portions for a very is reasonable price.

In our of my late mother, I wanted to visit one of her favorite places. I’ve heard Mayflower quality has become very poor. As I haven’t been in over 7 years, I was pleased with how fresh the food was. Waiting staff was very attentive. The place is very dated but overall, I would return again.

Let me start by saying, The fried catfish and scallop plate was delicious. But I also ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were not good, they tasted like the box I’m sure they came in. They also did not take them off of my bill. Beware! You must still pay for food that you do not like/eat, I only ate half of 1 stick. Other than that I enjoyed my food.

This is my husband’s favorite seafood restaurant.Very unique decorations- there’s a lighthouse inside the dining area- I had the very generous delicious combination of flounder & popcorn shrimp with a baked potato & Cole slaw. My husband had a very delicious trout combo with the same sides.
Those with accessible needs be aware there’s a railing sidewalk to walk around to the restaurant and there is accessible parking available.
