LRB Provisions, the much-anticipated sandwich spot from longtime Durham chef Amanda Orser (who cooked at places like Magnolia Grill and Littler) is now open on Guess Road. Orser turned a former Dog House hotdog stand into a place for scratch‑made sandwiches, fresh bread and house‑smoked pastrami. It’s the kind of neighborhood lunch joint that sells out fast because everything’s made the same day, but, luckily, staples like Orser’s pastrami and smoked trout are available to purchase by the pound to enjoy at home later.

They have a variety of options to choose from I bought the TT sandwich it's turkey and provolone cheese and other goodies. Delicious and plenty of turkey. The homemade chips had delicious seasoning -
I got the smoked trout salad sandwich and a half kale salad. Both were super good food items. I love the acidity in the sandwhich with the smoky fish. One thing, the bread seemed a little thick to me but I also don’t love a lot of bread in general. The kale salad was bright, acidic, and balanced. The sweet potato and crunch was a great addition.
Overall had a good experience and I would return!! -
Dannnngg those were good sandwiches!! Unique menu, same price point as downtown sandwich shops, but with better portions! We personally felt that LRB blew some of the long-lived local faves out of the water. Get over there and support an awesome chef with a cool concept. Make sure you try the homemade chips and pickles! Dog friendly, too! :) -
The staff were very friendly, but I found the sandwiches to be very overpriced for what you get. I had the pastor sandwich which had a good flavor, but the bread was very dry. Others in our group tried the CC and the pastrami, and the pastrami seemed to be the best of the three. -
Great pastrami sandwich. My first time here. Excellent customer service. The owner puts alot of love in the food. The Pastrami is moist, tender. 1/2 lbs of Pastrami. Chips are made with Old Bay seasoning.
