Launched our kayaks by the covered bridge. No official launch but able to get in off the rivers ledge. This river is not an easy river. Shallow and current is fast. You may want to stage versus going upstream. Took us 2 hours to paddle upstream and only 42 minutes to float back. However it is gorgeous.

The Flat River is a laid back, take an easy float, enjoy the day kind of river. It is fairly shallow but does have some deep spots. But overall it is great for family trips in tubes, kayaks, canoes, floaty chairs or whatever. Also great river for beginners.

Great for tubeing. Launch in Belding and float down to the village of Smyrna. Beautiful scenery. Usually not crowded. Takes anywhere from 2 to 4 hours depending on how high the river is. 👍

Nice 👍 easygoing float, sometimes you have to get out of the canoe 🛶 because it’s too shallow. Still good fun!

Very smooth river. Great for beginners. Stays pretty cleaned out between Greenville and Belding
