Born from the dream of owning a bottle shop and dispensary, Hops & Flower has blossomed into so much more. Complete with a full kitchen, this establishment is equal parts deli, market, dispensary and hang spot. Come here in the morning for an egg sandwich and homefries or grab a Philly Pork Verde and a six-pack on your way home from work. Brought to you by the same folks behind Luna, Remy's Lounge, and Rubies on Five Points, it's easy to predict this corner store will become a neighborhood staple in no time.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! This new bodega has quickly become one of my favorite spots in
Durham. The coffee is excellent, and the breakfast sandwiches are easily some of the best in the area. They’re hearty, perfectly made, and topped with a delicious sauce that really takes them to the next level. It’s the kind of breakfast that keeps you thinking about it long after you’ve left.
The service is always warm and welcoming, and the owner is incredibly friendly and clearly cares about creating a great experience for everyone who walks in. I also love that you can grab fresh pasta to cook at home along with other essentials you might need. It’s the perfect mix of quick breakfast stop and neighborhood market. So happy to have a place like this nearby! -
So excited about this new spot! Tamales and hot turkey sandwich were both 10/10. Some great take home freezer stuff in the cases and great coffee.
Wheelchair accessible, has high chair for little ones.
Great atmosphere. -
The name and the outside doesn’t really tell you what you’re gonna see inside. A lovely decor of a local artist and her oil paintings for sale. A clean Spartan atmosphere and excellent service.
Note that they have built a gratuity of 20% automatically into the bill and they do not accept incremental amount from customers.
We had cold and hot sandwiches for the picture below vegetarian as well as meat options and the food was fantastic. My son did say the Philly cheesesteak was a bit overwhelming with nothing but meat and what seemed like mayo rather than cheese.
But the warm cauliflower sandwich was quite good but very delicate flavor. The Esther was a cold sandwich and simply fantastic.
The full sandwiches are huge so be warned. We took half of all three sandwiches home.
I also had cold brew coffee, which was excellent. -
Born and raised in Durham, never tried this place until today and I must say…this place is a hidden (to me) gem! The sandwich alone impressed me, can’t wait to try the other menu items. And the customer service is great! -
I have loved Hop and Flower since it opened. Their sandwiches are soooo good, shoutout to the Hot Turkey (I think that’s what it’s called)! Loved the drinks I’ve gotten from there as well. The interior is so cute and the whole place always a peaceful vibe. The staff has always been pleasant and accommodating, I try to come here every time I visit Durham!!
