The Hampton Inn & Suites Durham University Medical Center is at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Cole Mill Road, just two miles from Duke University and Duke Medical Center. North Carolina Central University is six miles from the front door and downtown Durham attractions such as Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), Durham Bulls Athletic Park, restaurants, and bars are only four miles away. Breakfast and Wi-Fi is included in the guests stay as well as access to the fitness center and indoor heated pool.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is wonderful! Priscilla at the front desk was such a great help. She is kind, professional and always glad to assist. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Hampton Inn. My husband was staying overnight at Duke after a surgery and I needed a comfortable and safe place to stay the night, so I could head back to the hospital the next morning. I was warmly welcomed by Wayne & Priscilla. Wayne took extra special care to tell me about the amenities such as breakfast as well as letting me know that a staff member is available 24/7 at the concierge desk if I needed anything. It was a wonderful feeling to take the elevator up to my room knowing that I was taken care of. The room was clean, modern, and I enjoyed how easy it was to access Netflix on the TV. I woke up the next morning, ate a hearty breakfast from the buffet and walked over to concierge as I was about to check out. I had a wonderful conversation with another staff member at the concierge desk, and I checked out with ease. Overall A+++, the service from the staff was exceptional.

Room was very clean and spacious for intended purposes. Staff was warm and welcoming from the first interaction to the last! Wayne was amazing and very knowledgeable. He also gave us a little snack bag after long travels! Breakfast was huge with so many different options to meet many expectations/nutritional needs. The kids loved the pool, it was clean and well maintained as well. We really have no complaints. I mean the snack area was pricey but that’s not the hotels fault as much as it is being the convenience of it. Many games in the outside area along with fire pits, grills and plenty of seating. They had applicable parking and charging stations as well. We stayed under Derek Farley/Heather Wood. Would recommend and will always stay here when we are in the area. Sorry for the lack of room pictures. I didn’t think to take any before using the room!

Amazing hotel, it’s nice and clean and the manager and staff are really nice. They have a breakfast in the morning and while doing some work in the lobby the manager came and gave some ice cream, super nice! Location isn’t too horrible, there’s nice places that are a few miles out but nothing super nice close by. This is still a great hotel and would definitely def recommend.

Excellent Hampton Inn in Durham, NC! Our check in was very efficient. The front desk attendant “Wayne” was exceptional. Wayne was very professional and personable. He explained all the extra amenities in great detail. This Hampton has a lot more to offer than the ones I have stayed in the past. It is also part of the Home 2 Suites, which is definitely unusual. Great job Wayne!

I’m going to update my review! Everyone and I mean everyone who works in this hotel was so pleasant and helpful! And I did enjoy their breakfast offerings which included fresh fruit, oatmeal, waffles, hot frittata eggs and hard boiled eggs, sausage, potatoes. A variety of cereals, yogurt, breads and pastries (including gluten free for those would need that). And the variety of condiments to add to your meal was more than I had seen at other hotels. The breakfast room staff kept the place sparkling clean and food plentiful.
There is a lovely outdoor seating area and pets are welcome for a fee.
Great place to stay! And prayers for those who are there because they or a loved one needs Duke Medical Center.

I think we stayed at the Hampton Inn side, the Home2 and Hampton are combined, they are different wings. We checked in really late at night and they were quick. The hotel room was clean and stocked. Tornado and Flood warning was going on and Hotel staff in Lobby was very good at informing guests where to go (if needed).
All facilities are shared between the hotels (pools, breakfast, gym, front desk)

Great hotel. Even better staff.
Staff (3 people) was in a very good friendly mood when I arrived. They were on the phone with a customer that was upset with road noise. But the staff was smiling and courteous the entire time.
I was on the 5th floor and did hear some road noise but it didn’t cause me to loose any sleep.
The hotel and room was immaculate. I needed shave cream as TSA kept mine and Dorrell went out of his way to find me some. And he was smiling and happy the entire time.
Breakfast was typical for Hampton but the area was very spacious bright and exceptionally clean and there were employees everywhere helping and cleaning.
This was not your typical Hampton.
I would stay here again without question.

My daughter and I stayed here while her husband had surgery at Duke Regional Hospital. Latosha checked us in and was so warm and welcoming, just what was needed during a stressful time. The hotel and room were immaculate. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding - a varied amount of foods to choose from.
I would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

Mimi & Priscilla were absolutely wonderful during our check in process, and continuously throughout the stay. The rooms were very clean, and the area is within driving distance to a few good spots. So far so great!

Had a great stay! Priscilla and Mimi were amazing during check-in and made sure we got everything we needed and checked in with us the next day to make sure we had everything we needed. Very nice complimentary breakfast selection with a variety of offerings. The entire hotel is brand new and rooms were very clean. Location is good with easy access to the highway and food very close by. Highly recommend staying here. We certainly would again.

I recently stayed and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent, especially if you’re visiting Duke University or the Duke Medical Center, as both are just a short drive away. The hotel is also conveniently close to downtown Durham, making it easy to explore local attractions like the Durham Performing Arts Center and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was particularly comfortable, and I appreciated the blackout curtains which ensured a good night’s sleep. The free WiFi was reliable and fast, which was great for both work and leisure.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a good variety of options to choose from, including hot items like eggs and waffles. The fitness center and indoor heated pool were also nice perks, providing a great way to unwind after a busy day.
The staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. Special shoutout to Wayne at the front desk, who was particularly helpful and made the check-in process smooth and welcoming.

Front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. The gentleman who checked us in ( sorry, didn't get his name) was very nice and even helped us with our luggage to the room. I would come back and stay here again and will recommend it to everyone.

This place was great, we stayed near the holiday season, and they even had free cookies and hot cocoa just out in the lobby. The place was very clean and the staff was friendly. Would totally stay again.
