We had to stay overnight in Durham for doctor's visits at Duke University hospital. My last appointment wrapped up early. Check in is at 3pm, we arrived around 2pm, the clerk was able to accommodate early check in! Every staff member was helpful, and pleasant. They were even having free fresh baked cookies that afternoon. The little extra touches were very nice, but what really struck me was how clean and quiet it was.
The lobby was bright, decorated, and very clean. This followed throughout the rest of the hotel. The weight room, pool, and outdoor patio were no exception.
Both my travel partner and I were highly impressed and satisfied with our stay. The location is great, very close to the university/hospital, downtown, and right by i85.
By far the cleanest and quietest hotel I've stayed at for quite some time. -
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past few months. Here’s what I love: it’s quiet in the rooms, the breakfast is super solid, it’s clean, they have movie channels on the TV, there are options for both bathtubs or roll-in showers in the room depending on what you need, everything is new and works well, and the staff is really nice!
I’ve also traveled here with dogs and they liked it as well. The quietness of the hotel again was a huge bonus for making them feel more calm in an unknown place.
The location isn’t the most idyllic. But it is pretty well situated for anything you need to do in Durham. There are also several great hiking trails nearby. The Eno Quarry trailhead and Duke Forest are a five minute drive away.
And the cherry on top for me is that I left an iPhone there. I got a call from the front desk letting me know. This is not my first time leaving a device at a hotel but this is my first time having the hotel initiate reaching out to me. They are sending me a link so that I can pay for postage for them to mail it back. I’m so impressed! -
We left another hotel before even checking in and gave this hotel a shot since it have even better reviews than the other.
Every single staff member I encountered was beyond helpful and truly kind. The hotel was extremely clean also. The outdoor space and seating area in the lobby was awesome too with games for the family to play which is our favorite!
We will definitely be back! -
Will never stay again, nor will anyone from my company. Horrible experience. Booked, stayed, then got a mystery charge on my card with no explanation or receipt. Called multiple times, only to have to speak with an AI agent which kept sending me to other AI agents. When I got through to a human, they either transfered me back to AI, or hung up on me.
When I finally go through to a human being who was helpful, they explained to me that my card was being charged for a parking fee I had no way of knowing about, and no way of avoiding. Charing me to use the PARKING LOT? How the hell else are we supoosed to get there? Are the going to charge me an extra fee me walking on their floors too?
Every actually human being on their staff was great and did their best to make sure we had a nice stay. This isn't their fault. But like hell will I stay there again. -
My wife and I stayed here one night while visiting Duke Medical. I asked for, and was graciously given, a floor and room away from "pet" rooms. The room was very comfortable, fine amenities and the included breakfast was excellent. The outside noise (fire trucks, motorcycles etc) was noticeable, however it was very quiet after 9pm with no issues. Hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. I am glad to recommend this Hampton Inn! A+
