The Hampton Inn & Suites Durham University Medical Center is at the intersection of Interstate 85 and Cole Mill Road, just two miles from Duke University and Duke Medical Center. North Carolina Central University is six miles from the front door and downtown Durham attractions such as Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), Durham Bulls Athletic Park, restaurants, and bars are only four miles away. Breakfast and Wi-Fi is included in the guests stay as well as access to the fitness center and indoor heated pool.
Maybe the best "affordable" hotel I've ever been at. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, the lounge and outdoor area was very nice. I loved the board games and fire pit and hot cocoa. Comfy and clean rooms.

Had a great stay at the Hampton! Breakfast was great. The room was clean & it was huge & wide open.
They had a free shuttle service that we utilized. Our driver Gwen was so kind & friendly. She stoped at the coffee shop for us before dropping us at the train station. She had snacks as well which was nice.

We had to stay overnight in Durham for doctor's visits at Duke University hospital. My last appointment wrapped up early. Check in is at 3pm, we arrived around 2pm, the clerk was able to accommodate early check in! Every staff member was helpful, and pleasant. They were even having free fresh baked cookies that afternoon. The little extra touches were very nice, but what really struck me was how clean and quiet it was.
The lobby was bright, decorated, and very clean. This followed throughout the rest of the hotel. The weight room, pool, and outdoor patio were no exception.
Both my travel partner and I were highly impressed and satisfied with our stay. The location is great, very close to the university/hospital, downtown, and right by i85.
By far the cleanest and quietest hotel I've stayed at for quite some time.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past few months. Here’s what I love: it’s quiet in the rooms, the breakfast is super solid, it’s clean, they have movie channels on the TV, there are options for both bathtubs or roll-in showers in the room depending on what you need, everything is new and works well, and the staff is really nice!
I’ve also traveled here with dogs and they liked it as well. The quietness of the hotel again was a huge bonus for making them feel more calm in an unknown place.
The location isn’t the most idyllic. But it is pretty well situated for anything you need to do in Durham. There are also several great hiking trails nearby. The Eno Quarry trailhead and Duke Forest are a five minute drive away.
And the cherry on top for me is that I left an iPhone there. I got a call from the front desk letting me know. This is not my first time leaving a device at a hotel but this is my first time having the hotel initiate reaching out to me. They are sending me a link so that I can pay for postage for them to mail it back. I’m so impressed!

This hotel did a fabulous job beginning to end. Upon arrival, my first thought was how extremely clean the lobby was. We visited in December and the lobby was beautifully decorated with several Christmas trees. They had a hot cocoa bar complimentary and fresh cookies. It felt very warm and inviting. They also include a complimentary shuttle service, which we used 3 separate times with no problems at all. It was very convenient. The campus was a close 10-15 minute drive also! Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and if we ever visit for another basketball game, we will certainly be staying here.

Cleanest Hilton line hotel I have stayed at. Plenty of east food choices within walking distance. Will stay here every time I’m in the area. Hopefully being new does not wear off with upkeep of the property and rooms.

This is the best Hampton Inn we've ever stayed at, definitely 5 stars. It looks new, very clean, with an amazing first floor level. Front desk was very friendly, always staffed, bottled water was in our room. The hallway and room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast area is huge, lots of seating, large selection, multiple waffle irons, much more than other Hampton Inns. Definitely recommend!

My family was in town for our Aunts Funeral and most family members who come from up North like downtown durham accommodations. But we were able to get them to stay here and they are so happy with the hotel, the breakfast and location to the family house is around the corner. The expectation of home away from home was super 👌. Thank you so much. Plenty seating and the view of the back where you had plenty sun space. I may do a Friday home away from home stay myself. Whewwww! And Ms. Terry was absolutely amazing...greeting guest and welcoming those coming in to check in. Keep up the amazing job and lets not forget those who keep the hotel clean and put the breakfast spread out ...Thank you allllll! This will be our family hotel.

The first impressions start at the check-in desk. The associates were extremely welcoming, professional & courteous. Mr. T & Ms. Mimi were highly efficient, great sense of humor and thorough. Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton - Durham University Medical Center, NC
This was the best Hampton Inn and Suites that we have stayed at for many reasons. First of all, the hotel itself was very clean, bright, and airy. Our bedroom was huge with big windows, the beds were sooo…..comfortable, big bathroom, plenty of fresh clean towels, the water pressure was perfect and the hot water was magnificent. Parking is free and secure.
The staff was all exceptional so I cannot name a particular person. They were all friendly and helpful.
The evening cookies were freshly made and warm (thank you for that); there is fresh coffee and tea all day long/24 hours and constantly refreshed. The breakfast was the best we have ever seen in such hotels with lots of variety of breads, muffins, cakes, 4 waffle irons, eggs, meats, cheese, yogurt, oatmeal with all the fixings and real fruit.
The swimming pool was pretty large, clean, the gym area had a lot of high-end equipment inducing weights, kettlebells, treadmills, 4 peloton bikes and more! There were even 4 washer and dryers for use.
I would just come here to stay for no reason.

We had a very comfortable stay here! They have the best free hotel breakfast! They had blueberry waffles and different toppings as well as oatmeal AND grits. Lots of fruit and muffins, lemon water. I was really impressed with the variety. We stayed for one night while I was being seen at Duke. It’s only 10-15 mins from Duke’s hospitals in Durham and the University so it’s a very convenient location for patients and visitors. They also have medical rate which saves you money! Our room was spacious, clean and modern. The temperature and water pressure were fantastic in the shower! Bed was comfortable and the hotel staff were all helpful and friendly. The room was quiet and location felt safe. We didn’t get to use any of the amenities but the fitness area looked nice and clean as well. Even the elevators were clean! They do contactless entry with the Hilton app which makes check in and check out easy. This will be our go-to hotel when we’re in Durham!

Great stay here! The rooms were clean and comfortable - I liked the fitness center and FINALLY! A fitness center that isn't 80 degrees! It was cool and comfortable in there for my run in the morning. I liked the selection of equipment and everything was nice and clean. The only item I might suggest is to bring soap. We were surprised to find that they don't provide soap (?) and only provide a body wash. Overall though, a very nice stay!

Rooms were ok but blah and on the small side. Clean, plenty of towels. A bed or 2, a desk chair, and a decent bathroom. Nothing within walking distance but a few low-end chains, and highway noise is pretty loud even on the top floor. Not worth the site's $140 price tag unless you really need to be close(ish) to Duke/I-80 and the similarly-priced Duke Hilton is out of rooms. Rescued by the absolutely terrific buffet breakfast and pet-friendly status.

This hotel is one of the best Hampton Inns and overall hotels that I've stayed at in a while. First of all, the staff works so hard and are very friendly and approachable, which is not a given nowadays. Briana, Priscilla, and Terry each helped me and my family to feel welcome and at home. They are truly top notch.
The cleanliness is 5 out of 5, which is saying something with my particular high standards. The staff stays on top of everything in this relatively new hotel. Even when really busy, the hotel feels quiet and privacy is respected. The rooms are clean and the TV's are really nice.
Highly recommend this hotel. Convenient location to Duke University, Duke hospitals, and quick eateries. It can be tough to merge onto the busy main road, but otherwise, it's great.

As a Bonvoy Platinum member, I rarely venture outside the Marriott world -- but I'd make a whole lot of exceptions for this hotel. Amazing service, comfortable rooms where things "just work" -- even a wonderful breakfast. The attention to detail in the rooms was what impressed the most. Little things that don't work at most hotels didn't cause any hassle here. Other hotels could learn a lot.

I agree with other reviews. This place is great. Best buffet breakfast I have ever eaten. Staff is great. Rooms are spotless. Rooms have plenty of electric outlets. Great shower. Refillable water bottle station, and cookies in the evening. I appreciate the message I received after I booked, information that may not be on my third party site. It may be helpful to others. Lots of fast food within walking distance. Only negative is: it's hard to get out of the complex due to really busy hwys.

I stayed here for business and it was the hotel I needed after several weeks of travel in a variety of hotels, inns and airbnbs. My room was a king on the Hampton Inn side - clean, plenty of light, room to move around, a sofa and a desk to work. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is quiet and has great shades to block the light for sleeping. The hotel is minutes away from Durham attractions.
Dorrell at the front desk was helpful when I had a few questions. I would definitely stay here again.

All I can say is that I was extremely impressed with this hotel. Briana truly made my day by allowing me to check in early. I was in town visiting some friends in the hospital, and her graciousness was greatly appreciated.
I have stayed in thousands of hotels in this category, and I must say—this was the best experience I’ve ever had.
My only minor issue was the inability to fully turn off the air-conditioning unit. I was told that the fan continues to run, even after selecting "off," due to a built-in dehumidifier function. As a Floridian, I understand the need, but the constant buzzing wasn’t my favorite part of the stay.

We stay here each time we have appointments at Duke. The hotel is lovely and all of the employees are very friendly and helpful. Priscilla is wonderful! She always has a smile for us and we look forward to seeing her when we check in. We would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.
