Gym Tacos has gained a lot of hype in Raleigh since opening in 2019; lucky for us, they’re bringing their tasty tacos (made with handmade corn tortillas), tortas, tostadas and burritos to the center of the Bull City. Losing longtime former tenant, Pompieri Pizza, was a hit for the area, so it’s nice to see another small local business picking up where they left off. Gym Tacos’ bright, fun and casual atmosphere makes it a perfect spot for happy hour meetups or family-friendly gatherings.

My first time trying Gym tacos, the carne azada tacos were very good and they gave me a lot of meat :) I will be coming back

Parking directly across the street.
Food was delicious, as always! Surf & turf burrito & the shrimp quesadillas are our go to orders. Can’t forget the chips & queso. ;)

The Burrito Pollo was outstanding! It was a complete meal and more than sufficient.
The service was friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was pleasant.
I will definitely return.

We got the Taco Azada, Taco Lengua and an Horchata, everything tasted great. The salsas were fantastic, the tortillas felt fresh. The prices were a little steep but you’re in downtown Durham so it’s to be expected. The music was a little loud inside the restaurant, the customer service was very blasé but overall things were good. Would most likely come back if we’re in the area.

I went on Saturday night and there were plenty of tables available. I can say the tacos tasted really good. I ordered the asada sope and the asada torta, the al pastor gringa, and horchata water, it was fine, not too sweet. The service was super friendly. It has an authentic Mexican taco flavor.

I'm not lying, these were the best tacos I ever had in my life and this incoming from someone who doesn't like corn tortillas. The meat was perfectly seasoned and seared. The sauce paired PERFECTLY with the tacos. The churros.... Goodness! I don't like cinnamon that much, but these were perfect and the presentation was amazing. The restaurant was clean and the service was amazing. I believe the manager working was Ricky and he was very sweet and definitely one of the reasons I'll be back. I'm down bad!

This is the taqueria Durham needed!! They are just as awesome as their other locations. Tacos, tortas, sopes, gringas, queso, guac, chips, horchata, all on point and affordable for downtown and super quick! Get the sopes asada with green sauce 🤌service is reliable, dine in or take out! Kid friendly. Delicioso

Pleasantly surprised at the variety of proteins available - some I haven't seen before.
We enjoyed our tacos and the burritos were stuffed full. Will be a part of our rotation when we're downtown.

The building was bright with natural light and fun artwork, the prices were high for what it is. I was disappointed the meat was warm not hot like I would've liked.
Nachos tasted great and were a large meal portion. Personally I wished the nachos were layered flat on a tray and hot cheese sauce.

Best burrito in Durham! Amazing peanut sauce - a must try.
I haven’t had such authentic Mexican cuisine since I was in El Paso, TX. Great wings too. Great food and great value.

This was the best tacos and nachos I’ve had in the US! Absolutely incredible shrimp on the Gym Taco. I highly recommend. Nachos were fantastic, not a bare chip on the entire serving! I will be coming back.

Let me start by saying that I can't wait to come back! I got 3 tacos that are to die for. The prices are great and overall the best tacos I've had since I got thrown out of a Senior Frogs in Cozumel.
