My company hired Greenway for a seemingly simple task - take company employees from Raleigh to Charlotte for the company's 25th anniversary with one stop in Chapel Hill to pick up a second set of employees. We were sorely disappointed with the outcome. All started out good enough (other than the bus showing a lot of age / superficial upgrades to a very old bus with window stains from the past users). After picking up the Chapel Hill employees the bus attempted a u-turn at which time one of the tires blew out. The noise of the tire made it sound like it was likely a recap because it was "flapping" against the inside of the wheel well as the driver drove. The driver called dispatch who instructed him to go to the parking area where the other busses were and switch us out. We did this, driving past 4-5 tire shops that seemingly could have done the repair on the way all the way across Durham to the parking area. We then unloaded off bus "A" with the bad tire and got onto bus "B". This delayed us about an hour and a half and made us late for the event, arriving after 6 pm instead of 4:30. But life happens, right? After the event we got onto the bus and the temperature was in excess of 85 degrees. I asked the driver about the AC and apparently the heat had been turned on full blast instead of the AC (this was late October). On the drive back to Chapel Hill the bus never cooled down to a comfortable temperature, always staying 80 degrees with little circulation all the way back. After dropping off the Chapel Hill folks at after 11pm, we were all shocked to see the driver NOT take us back to Raleigh. Instead he took us all the way across Durham again, unload bus "B", get back onto bus "A", and then drive us back to Raleigh. As noted, "life happens" - equipment failures happen (although I've never had issues with any chartered bus / vehicle in my 50+ years of life) but to delay a bus full of people another HOUR getting home late at night to change buses again (vs taking us back to our destination and figuring out their issue on their own time) was what prompted this review. Instead of bending over backwards to make things right with the customers who were inconvenienced due to their issue, they seemingly thought nothing of further inconveniencing them to save themselves some time. Awful. Old, dirty equipment that does not have properly working HVAC AND poor service? I won't be back and would not recommend using this company. -
Marc was great to work with for our wedding day transportation! He was always very quick to respond and address any questions we had. We secured the Blue and Pink Transit Buses to pick up wedding guests from multiple hotels. One guest left something on a bus, and Marc kindly allowed them to retrieve the item the following morning without any issue. We recommend them for any transportation needs! -
We used Greenway for our October wedding in Chapel Hill. Couldn’t have asked for a smoother pickup/drop off experience!
The drivers were courteous and the shuttles were clean. We recommend Greenway to anyone! -
I genuinely can't fathom how unprofessional this business is. We booked with them off of a recommendation for transportation for our wedding. After we agreed on the services we would need, he had us fill out a contract, and when I say fill it out, I mean the ENTIRE contract. This should have been the first red flag. Then he told us we would be contacted within a couple days of our wedding day so we would know who our driver is and other specifics regarding our transportation. We didn't hear a single word and actually had to have our wedding planner contact him at 10 PM the night before our wedding to even make sure we still had these services provided, since she was the only one he would answer phone calls for. I mean I am the paying customer and he would not even speak with me nor my husband.
After the bus driver pulled down the wrong driveway and was 30 minutes late, they blamed us for the lack of lighting and stated we should have had one of the guests come and direct her back to the property. Luckily, we had a sheriff on sight who was willing to go and help her out. Once she arrived, she proceeded to make us wait longer so she could take a cigarette break. The entire bus smelled like smoke the entire ride, although in the contract it had stated there was to be no smoking in the vehicle. It has been raining all day, but given the fact we were on a literal city bus, there is no telling how many people were on it that day, but he proceeded to also blame us for the dirt that was tracked in. He accused us of someone getting sick (keep in mind that my husband and I were on this bus as well) and has yet to provide any proof of the "dirt" or "throw up", but decided to charge us a cleaning fee without telling us.
Instead of responding to the phone calls and emails we have sent to resolve the situation, he is now copying my husbands personal information onto his response on the review, which is very public. EXTREMELY unprofessional and rude.
If you want a good experience, I seriously DO NOT recommend this service. I don't want anyone to go through what we have. -
Hello. I would like to caution other potential riders against using Marc’s service. The “green” transportation is a good sounding idea but at the end of the day you have to run a business too. And Marc was unprofessional, and added extra fees onto the final bill with no explanation or proof of why they needed it. The bus also arrived 30 minutes late and my pregnant wife from South TX was shivering really bad in the northern chill. I thought she might leave me right there out of disgust with the bus being so late and my future son possibly being froze to death. The bus also smelled like Marlboro cigarettes which was gross. My suit smelled like a Waffle House in 1978 the next day. Don’t know if I’ll ever be able to get it out. I’ll finish by saying we would be okay to deal with the unclean, smelly, and late bus without making a bad review but after Marc tacked on extra fees for 0 reason whatsoever besides greed I had to make it public. Stay away from Marc & Greenway Transportation.
