My fiancé and I have been taking dance lessons here leading up to our wedding for our first dance. Olga was our fabulous instructor and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. She choreographed the most fun, uplifting, *beginner-friendly* routine for us that involved rumba and hustle. I have to mention environment of the studio as well, which is positive, encouraging and welcoming to all. We were greeted with big smiles and welcoming words every time we walked through the door. As a couple, we found it fun and connecting. Highly recommend! We’re hooked and will definitely be back after we get married next week :)

For a birthday gift, a friend gifted my (now) husband and I a dance lesson at Fred Astaire and we used it to prep for our first dance. our instructor was Olga, and after 1 session we signed up for a few more dance lessons to choreograph and solidify our first dance routine. Olga was absolutely amazing and a wonderful teacher. My husband and I do not dance at all, and Olga was so patient and really helped us pick out dance steps that we would be comfortable with. I felt like we improved so much after each lesson and we loved how our first dance came out! Highly recommend for couples who want to take dance lessons before their wedding!

We took lessons with Julia for our first dance for our wedding. It was SUCH an incredible experience. The classes are so fun and made for a great date night. We loved Julia as an instructor, as well as the entire Fred Astaire community. Julia listened to our preferences and made sure that our dance looked polished while still feeling like “us”.

So many of our friends said they were incredibly impressed with our dance! This was by far our favorite part of wedding planning.

I ended up taking some Father-Daughter dance lessons with Julia as well, and again 11/10 experience.

I started ballroom dance lessons at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Durham one year ago, and the experience has changed my life in so many positive ways. I never imagined how much progress I would make in just a year. I've learned the fundamentals and beyond in 12 ballroom dances, spanning both Smooth and Rhythm styles, and even completed my first showcase—an accomplishment I never thought possible when I began.

My instructors, Nataliya and Julia, exemplify what makes this studio so special. Like all of the instructors here, they are exceptionally talented dancers who are deeply passionate about sharing their knowledge and helping their students succeed. Every lesson is thoughtfully tailored to each student's skill level, goals, and aspirations, making every session both challenging and rewarding.

I am especially grateful for the constant encouragement, patience, and support I receive. My instructors create an environment where learning is not only effective but also genuinely fun and fulfilling.

What truly sets this studio apart, however, is its incredible sense of community. The instructors and students create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where everyone encourages one another's growth. From the moment you walk through the door, you feel like part of a family, and that sense of belonging makes the experience even more meaningful.

Joining the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Durham has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. I look forward to continuing to learn, grow, and share in this wonderful community for many years to come.

My fiancé and I have been taking lessons with Julia for about 4 months leading up to our wedding. She is an excellent choreographer and also just really fun to work with! We’re both pro track athletes so we wanted something athletic and challenging despite having no dance experience. Julia absolutely delivered on teaching us an impressive first dance from the ground up. Each lesson has been such a fun date night that we even plan to keep coming back after our wedding :)
