It's a nice ooen and spacious park. There's a big field, a pool, and tennis court. Just be careful with the slides. There's one that has a bolt messing (the slide facing the woods, see pic below).
This may be my kids favorite park. And no, that bolt has not been fixed yet 🤨 -
There are many higher reviews and I guess there have been some updates such as for the tennis court. But I have been to quite possibly 100 parks (I wish I was joking) this is probably my least favorite as far as playgrounds go. I do love the giant field when it’s mowed but unfortunately it was not. The field needed mowing, the playground is in despair and needs to be updated. Confused how all these other parks are getting all the updates and this one in a main town is dilapidated unless there are plans for it to be upgraded. If so it can’t come soon enough. I gave it a 2 because it has a very big field. And I like the bench area being close to the play structure. But the bench area also needs some updating. The play structure omg it is a rusty dusty bucket of an ole gal just hangin in there. -
We need many upgrades. No basketball court pool is below standard. The picnic cover areas are in need of new lights, This park has been historically in the community for many, many years, and the city should do more to fund this park for better enjoyment. Overall, it was a great time amongst family and friends... -
Please note the spray ground (spinkler pad) is closed while the city is in a drought this summer 2026. It is unknown when it will resume again, check the website. The pool is also at the end of its life, with plans to remove it soon, and update the park for next year. (See Durham play more website about it) So don't plan on water activities here for awhile.
Overall good park though! The playground is a little dated but still fun for the kids. There's open fields so it's open to play various sports like soccer or frisbee, or walk your dog (leashed). There is a covered picnic area / shelter you can reserve online that also has a grill and small bathrooms. Kids swings, Toddler swings, slides, climbing structure.
If you see anything wrong with the park (something not working) submit it on the Durham One Call website or app! I submitted something was broken a week ago, and came back today to see it fixed :) I appreciate that the city cares that the parks are safe, thank you! -
Nice for a little walk in the park or if the kids wanna ride a bike
