I've been at Emmaus Way for over 10 years and have been incredibly thankful for such a warm and loving community. It is a missional community that partners with organizations around the city of Durham to participate in the revelation of God's kingdom. This church not only recognizes the hopefulness of participating in Gods kingdom but also the brokenness of our world and invites one another into the space in between where we are allowed to question and engage in a conversation.
The teaching style and worship is definitely different as we sit in the "round" and is more of a dialogue than some prescriptive sermon. All are given equal voice to participate.
I would definitely recommend coming to visit a few times to see what it's like. -
It's more than just a church, people with any faith are welcome here.
