Dirty motel by the highway. On arrival, the location felt very unsafe with a number of people loitering in the parking lot staring at me as I checked in. Almost instantly after opening the door, my room smelled like someone had been smoking in it. The walls are very thin such that you can easily hear everything/everyone outside your room. Then, the bathroom had multiple bugs crawling on the floor. This is probably related to the small open crevice between the floor and the doors. I would highly NOT recommend this hotel. -
For the price, Econolodge in Research Triangle Park is fine. The location is 12 minutes from RDU and Durham. Larger smaller frig with no freezer, microwave are adequate. Towels are thinner, beds only had a sheet and bedspread. I would have liked something heavier, a thicker comforter or blanket in addition.
Breakfast which is Continental is a little sparse with only a waffle maker with syrup (no butter) Raisen Brand or Frosted Flakes. If you're looking for protein, you're out of luck. Coffee with dry creamer (or milk from the cereal). Cable TV with no Menu or Schedule. No alarm clock . One desk chair. I like that the sink is outside the toilet, tub bathroom. Easier for double occupancy. I did find a kill a roach in the bathroom.
I was initially assigned a room with a king size bed on the street side abd asked for a room away from the busy street. I found it mildly noisy from outside noise.
They do have one washer and dryer for $2 in quarters each but no option to purchase detergent. So bring your own . I was able to park right in front of my lower level door which was convenient. No elevator for the upper floor. -
Great for a quick night stay. Check-in process was easy. The attendant was nice. The room was clean. However, No towels or wash clothes was in the room. I did see one roach hiding under the TV. -
The hotel stay itself was nice and the staff was friendly and I like that it was pretty accessible to things in the Durham area. However I woke up and discovered they had roaches. I went to the front desk to ask for a fork to eat my food and he told me to look in the drawers to get one. Roaches crawling in there too. Besides the roaches, everything else was ok. -
This place is misrepresented in photos. Read the reviews.
We booked via hotels.com.
This is not good for families.
There are bugs killed 2, possibly cockroaches.
It seems like a long term stay spot for many people.
There are people hanging out outside, and we arrived at 2am.
The breakfast area could be better.
