Beginning as Main Street Methodist, this twin-towered, brick Romanesque and Gothic revival style church was built in 1907. Named for its benefactor, Washington Duke, it features a 10-bell chime.

I volunteer for the Mobile Market - Community Food Distribution the third Saturday of the month. Everyone here is super nice and work hard to get food out to the community. The Church is always clean and the people are so welcoming.

Loved it!!! I received my Doctorates from GODUKE 2012,ona full ride,so I love 2 go2 the DUKE CHAPLE!!! The Program for MLKJr was in Whitford Hall,that was my 1st time there..I was impressed with the program,& how disciplined the young ones were....I even won an ADDIDAS gym bag...If I am given advance notice,I will come to DUKE,more often...

This church is very welcoming to all! The pastor is very open and honors all beliefs. The central philosophy is about kindness and community. If you are looking for a genuine community centered around spirituality, this may be the place for you!

DMUMC is a place where everyone is welcome. Pastor Heather is relatable and listens as well as she writes sermons. Always striving to make the Durham community, and the lives that surround it, better.
