Stayed ON 11/09/25 TO 11/10/2025. They had pretty good food which included eggs and link sausage. We were eating in the little dining room and a roach was crawling down the wall at the entrance to the room where the food is prepared. The sheets had several holes in them. The microwave had a crack in the door. This is an older motel that was not refurbished very well. I don't think we will stay at this motel again. There are many more motels to choose from in the area.

I NEVER thought I would EVER post a negative review about ANY Choice Hotel, EVER. I stay at different Choice hotels several times a month for YEARS!! My husband has worked as an executive managing several brands INCLUDING over 100 Choice hotels.But this was the WORST experience I have EVER HAD with a hotel...ANY HOTEL!! First the pictures must have been 20 years old or just taken at a different hotel. I asked for a 1st floor if one was available. Have Congestive Heart Failure and was not well. I stepped foot in the most filthy, disgusting room I've ever seen and saw immediately that the door had been kicked in and the lock had been forcibly removed... THERE WAS NO LOCK AT ALL. I immediately turned around and got back in my car and drove to the lobby to change rooms. Didn't even co.plain about the filth I just said the lock was broken off and there is no way to LOCK the door. He looked at me like I was very unreasonable and VERY RUDLY I formed me that if I dont like the human trafficking room I would be given a room o. The 3rd floor( as punishment basically)) i was i. shock!! I handed him the key back and left even though I knew he would still charge me

The owner of this problem should be ashamed of the lack of care happening at his property. I would give 0 Stars if possible after this experience. I had one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever encountered at Clarion Pointe Durham. Upon checking in, the first room was filthy, poorly maintained, and completely unacceptable. Including, no amenities such as shampoo, condition or lotion in dispensers. I reported the issues and was moved to another room, only to find conditions that were even worse. After being switched a third time, I still ended up in a room that failed to meet basic safety and cleanliness standards.
The property had visible filth, dirty surfaces, and an overall neglected appearance. Most concerning was the absence of a working fire detector in one of the rooms, which raised serious safety concerns. Throughout my stay, I also witnessed suspicious activity around the property, including what appeared to be prostitution occurring on or near the premises, making the environment feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Someone on my team also recorded some of this activity as it was happening in the parking lot.
One of the most disappointing aspects of this stay was that the photos posted online do not accurately represent the property's current condition. The images make the hotel appear clean, modern, and well-maintained, but my experience was the complete opposite. Having to change rooms three times should have been enough indication that management is aware of the property's ongoing issues. Unfortunately, each room presented new problems rather than solutions. Cleanliness, maintenance, safety, and guest comfort all seemed to be low priorities.
I would especially encourage solo female travelers to carefully consider other accommodations. Based on my experience, I did not feel comfortable or secure on the property, particularly because of the condition of the rooms and the suspicious activity taking place around the hotel. I also asked a front desk employee if it was a residence hotel, in which she agreed. Meaning there are long term tenants paying rent versus being actual guests. Safety should never be something guests have to question when traveling.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe, clean, or professionally managed place to stay. There are far better options in the Durham area. Potential guests should be aware that the online photos may not reflect the actual condition of the hotel they will encounter upon arrival. The fire marshal should this property to check for compliance as well. -
DO NOT stay at this hotel. The reviews are accurate about bedbugs. My husband checked in after driving from out of town and stripped the bed to ensure no bed bugs. I told him they could still be in the mattress and he only see them later when he sleeps because they come out when they sense body heat. Sure enough that happened that night. We have to now get a refund through the third party source it was booked through because the hotel said they cannot refund. This was a stressful ordeal considering my husband had to frantically search for a new hotel late at night due to this inconvenience, in an unfamiliar area and starting a new job the next day. Several hotels were booked up. The reviews are also accurate with the sketchy behavior at night time. If you value your safety and cleanliness do not stay here.

This place was nothing but completely smoke smelled my.entire everything smelled like cigarette smoke. Nice people.at Desk but the smell was horrible and the other guest i meant there said she got bit by bed bugs and was moved to another different room . I wouldn't recommend staying here at all much more renovation needed
