We tried the oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken and jerk pork. They were all so delicious and came in pretty generous portions. I thought the rice and peas, and cabbage were amazing sides. The staff members were also very friendly. -
This was our first time here having been recommended by someone who loves it. The curry pork was phenomenal and the curry chicken amazing as well.! The cabbage was also excellent and had a bit of a bite, which I loved! We will definitely be going back even though we live on the other side of town! -
Visited this place for the first time after seeing the good reviews. And left me start by saying the staff was very friendly BUT the the portion sizes are so small. I paid 54 dollars for 2 plates (one for me, one for a relative) and the food was gone so quick and I was still hungry. 19 dollars for the jerk chicken alone with no sides is crazy. Then the sides are 3 dollars each and you only get a tiny scoop. The food was okay, the yams. I was heavily spiced, not sweet like you'd expect which I didn't like and the jerk chicken wasnt spicy, it was more so sweet which was odd. I will say, the mac was the best thing only the plate. -
Was looking for a good Jamaican spot and this popped up with great reviews so I decided to try it myself. So glad that I did. It was delicious! I tried the medium sized jerk chicken, rice and peas and cabbage since it was my first time, and it exceeded my expectations. The chicken was fall off the bone, the meat and skin was full of spices and the oxtail + jerk gravies were delicious too. I also grabbed a beef patty with coco bread and that did not disappoint. They even have pink Ting!
When I walked into the restaurant, there was a family of 4 (2 adults/2kids) sitting in a dining area that has a mix of tables that can seat groups of up to 2 and 4 people. The woman who took my order greeted me and asked if it was my first time there. I told her yes and how I found them, and she said I made the right choice instead of going elsewhere. She was absolutely right! A watch out for me when eating at restaurants that have food from other cultures is if people from that culture are eating there, too. When you have Jamaicans eating at a Jamaican spot, you know it’s good.
So glad I found Angie’s and I’ll definitely be back! -
Updated review- I appreciate your kindness and customer service. The food was amazing. The macaroni was 10/10. I look forward to returning for the chick peas !
