I’m always on the hunt for a good cheesecake, and AJ’s Cheesecakes is honestly one of the best I’ve tried in the RDU area. Everything tasted fresh and really well made.
The owner was also super kind and offered us a few cake slices to try along with some cookies, which was a really nice surprise and made the visit even better.
Overall, everything we had was great. Definitely a solid spot for dessert, especially if you’re craving something late at night. I’ll be coming back for sure. -
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ?! My wife and I drove 40 mins to an hour away just for this and it was worth the drive. The staff so welcoming and sweet! We tried the tiramisu cheesecake and it did not stand a chance ! The best cheesecake thus far and I appreciate the owner and everyone there ! I will be back

My son surprised me with a gluten free and vegan strawberry cheesecake. Oh my! This was the most delicious, smooth and yummy cheesecake EVER! Do yourself a favor and get one! You won't be disappointed!

I would do unspeakable things for this cheesecake! The strawberry crunch is the only food that ever made me understand Edmonds plight in the Chronicles of Narnia.

July 2026 Update!
Baaaaby! I had to opportunity to try the new exclusive Bourbon Butter Pecan Cheesecake and it was Heaven sent! The flavors are unmatched, from the sweet and slightly salty, crunchy pecans on top to the bourbon-y buttery drizzle and the delicious creamy cheesecake with the sweet, buttery cookie crust. OMG!!! I have not met an AJ's Cheesecake that I did not like. Obviously, I have my faves, like the salted caramel, the lemon creme, and the taffy apple, but the Bourbon Butter Pecan takes the lead! It is definitely a show-stopper. If you are a foodie, or even a casual dessert person, you MUST try this flavor...or any of them! Listen, I have been in my career for 30 years now, and through being a regular customer experiencing Ali's amazing cheesecakes and awesome customer service, I'm out here considering applying for a job with her just to be close to her and the cheesecakes. She is a true business woman who cares for her customers and community, and I am enjoying watching her business flourish!

AJ's is our favorite late-night dessert spot. We have enjoyed many of their cheesecakes. We've had cherry, strawberry, strawberry crunch, blueberry, salted caramel, banana, snickers, and plain. ALL of them were delicious. We have always received good service. Of course, I am disappointed when my preferred flavor is sold out, but I have always felt confident choosing alternate flavors because I have never been disappointed with regards to quality and flavor. I see folks complain about the cheesecakes being frozen, but I actually enjoy partially frozen cheesecake, and appreciate receiving a product that is not full of preservatives. They thaw pretty quickly at room temperature, but I try to finish mine before it completely thaws. Either way, it is always creamy and delicious.
