X Marks the Spot — Meet the DPlex Facilities
The DPlex is composed of four diverse venues – each with its own history and character that will delight your event attendees.
Durham Convention Center
The Durham Convention Center is located in the heart of downtown and anchors the DPlex, just steps away from Durham’s newest hotspots, restaurants, hotels, shops, and art galleries. With 35,000 square feet of versatile meeting and event space, a team of planning professionals, exceptional cuisine prepared by culinary experts, and on-site audio visual and exhibitor services, it is the perfect fit for any occasion.
Host your keynote in Fletcher Hall, a performance hall graced by musicians, comics, speakers, and theater companies through the ages that has been restored to its original 1926 decor. The historic Beaux Arts-style building also includes two adjacent cinemas and a ballroom. All of the public spaces in the Carolina Theatre of Durham are available for rent, serving as stunning backdrops for cocktail hours and intimate receptions.
Durham Arts Council
The Durham Arts Council is a historic building center in Durham’s city center, today serving as a community hub for arts and culture. The facility includes a 200-seat theatre for performances and presentations, and meeting and reception spaces for private and corporate events. Reception areas are enhanced by rotating art exhibits. A catering center is available to support off-site caterers.
The Durham Armory strikes a balance of flexibility and functionality, whether it serve as event space for a breakout session, concert, reception, exhibit or seminar. Pop culture enthusiasts will recognize it as the backdrop of an Ernie Barnes painting, "The Sugar Shack," featured in the 70s TV show "Good Times" and Marvin Gaye's 1976 "I Want You" album artwork.
