St. Joseph's Performance Hall at the Hayti Heritage Center

St. Joseph’s Historic Foundation (SJHF) is a non-profit organization that manages the Hayti Heritage Center, a cultural and educational venue that houses a community room, two classrooms, a dance studio, the Lyda Moore Merrick Gallery, and the historic 400-seat performance hall. The structure was originally St. Joseph’s Church, established in 1891 by Edian Markham, a former slave. Stained glass windows and other remnants of the church add to the beauty of this space, which features speakers, artists, and entertainers from around the country and the world.
