West Fest

Old West Durham presents West Fest Block Party & Chili Cook-Off.

🌶️ THE CHILI COOK-OFF. Beans or no beans? Venison? Vegan? Your grandmother's recipe that you swear isn't your grandmother's recipe? All entries welcome. Taste them all, then vote for the People's Choice. Bragging rights are permanent and non-transferable. Prizes, too. Sign up on the website.

🦪 AN OYSTER BAR from Jean's by the Sea. Yes, oysters. At a chili cook-off. In Old West Durham. Plus other treats.

🔥 THE GRILL will be going all afternoon for those who believe meat is best served without a bowl. Burgers and hot dogs for the little ones and the big ones.

🚒 THE FIREMAN'S RELAY. Watch your neighbors attempt feats of speed and coordination they haven't tried since middle school. Participants welcome. Spectators strongly encouraged. Ice packs not provided.

🎲 GAMES, MUSIC AND MORE. Something for the kids, something for the grown-ups, and something for the grown-ups who are still kids.
