VOCES8 | Lead Me Home

In Lead Me Home: A Celebration of the American Choral Landscape, the celebrated British vocal ensemble VOCES8 explores the many traditions that shape American choral music. The program moves from early voices such as William Byrd to contemporary composers like Pulitzer Prize-winning North Carolina composer Caroline Shaw, with beloved spirituals like Steal Away and My Lord What a Morning woven throughout.

BBC Music Magazine praises the group’s “gorgeous sound, impeccable ensemble and intense responsiveness to text, harmony and melodic shape.” VOCES8 is the world’s top-streaming classical vocal group and performs more than 120 concerts a year in venues from Wigmore Hall and the Concertgebouw to the Sydney Opera House. Duke Arts is proud to welcome them back to Durham with this special program as part of the We the People Initiative.
