Christian McBride & Ursa Major

Eleven-time GRAMMY-winning bassist Christian McBride is one of the most influential figures in jazz today. A virtuoso performer, composer, and bandleader, prolific educator and advocate, and host of NPR’s “Jazz Night in America,” McBride is equally at home across genres from straight-ahead jazz to R&B, hip-hop, and classical music.

In Ursa Major, McBride is joined by four exciting rising stars, including saxophonist Nicole Glover, guitarist Ely Perlman, pianist Mike King, and drummer Savannah Harris. Together they bring a fresh, high-energy approach to the bandstand.

A celebrated mentor as well as performer, McBride created URSA Major to spotlight emerging voices while continuing the collaborative spirit at the heart of jazz.
