Hands down excellent food every visit. We always start with the fresh fried mozzarella as an appetizer. Sauces are all divine.
Chicken parm is always tender and well seasoned and the Grandma’s Margarita with its thin, crisp crust, fresh garlic and basil and crushed plum tomatoes are excellent options. Cheesecakes and desserts on rotation. Try the cannoli cheesecake for something different.
Easy enough to walk in during the week. There’s a bar area and space for larger private parties. Parking is easy with designated lot within the shopping center. Nice outside dining for warmer evenings. Owner is usually onsite and very friendly and gracious. -
Andrea with Offline - We were really craving Italian food and decided to try this spot after seeing the great reviews. We’re so glad we did because it definitely did not disappoint.
We started with the fried mozzarella, which was delicious. The cheese was perfectly melted and the breading wasn’t too heavy, so it had a really nice balance. For our entrée, we ordered the lasagna and chicken parm, and it was fantastic—you can tell the dishes are made with authentic flavors and quality ingredients.
The service was also wonderful and made the experience even better. Overall, it was a great meal and we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the mood for Italian!! -
I’ve passed by this place for years but never thought to try it until a couple of days ago. I’m so glad I finally did. Their grandma pie is the best pizza in Durham. Their meatballs are all-beef too which I love because most places use pork in theirs.
Most pizza served by restaurants nowadays are mediocre and half-hearted. It’s hard to find a good pizza that I didn’t feel like I wasted my money on. But here, you can tell that they actually care about the quality and presentation of the food they serve.
It’s nice to know that there are still some restaurants around here who care. Keep up the great work Vici! -
We visited this restaurant to take advantage of an Offline app discount.
We made a reservation through the website, but found when we arrived that it would not have been necessary on the Sunday evening we visited. We were seated and served very quickly, but did not feel rushed at all during the meal.
I took the recommendation of the server to try the seafood canneloni special (instead of the braised short ribs) and was very happy with my selection. The cream sauce was incredibly flavorful and the dish did not lack in cheesy goodness. The shrimp on top were perfectly seasoned and cooked and were a nice addition to the seafood inside the canneloni filling. I only wish I had saved some of the complimentary bread (served with rosemary olive oil for dipping) to get every last drop of the sauce off my plate.
We also ordered the fried calamari which was very light and crispy and the veal parmigiano, both of which we'd gladly eat again.
There were a number of visitors stopping by for takeout, so that's an option for us to consider in the future also. -
Wonderful, high quality Italian restaurant! At first we thought the menu items seemed a bit pricey, but when our food came out we were happy to discover the very generous portion sizes of authentic Italian dishes. The ones we ordered also came heavy on the meat! My favorite was veal marsala. The marsala was a very flavorful mushroom reduction that definitely did not take any shortcuts. O and the free bread with a good serving of really tasty olive oil is a nice touch as well. I do think if they want to be a bit more of a regular date night destination for people, they might want to find 1 or 2 more pasta dishes they could offer for 20$ or less, but if they're just trying to be more of a special occasion restaurant, I have no notes!
