Recently discovered this place the last few months and have enjoyed coming here for drinks. There was this place in NYC that had Pickletini and I had to try it here as I haven't seen it anywhere else. While it was good, it was too pickley for more, they have other cocktails on their menu that I've enjoyed as alternatives.
Overall, good place to have a lowkey hang out night.

I was a big fan of The Accordion Club back when it was still around and was quite sad when it closed. BUT it has been reborn as Old North Bar and WOW! Still has a lot of the same vibe as Accordion... but it's even better now. The cocktails are top notch and the prices are great. The bartenders are super nice and attentive. More seating than before. The Low Life special is, well, pretty special. Everybody seemed to having a really great time last night. The energy of the place is great.

They do some food pop ups like Hotdogs! 5 stars just for that but not kitchen on site. Awesome bar staff and a great beer selection with lots of variety. Really diverse cocktail menu as well

Durham needed just a "local bar". Somewhere to hang and be able to have a conversation without having to yell over a DJ. The backyard space is huge, if you weren't already familiar when it was Accordion. I feel safe drinking there, which is big for me. The staff is very welcoming but also doesn't stand for any BS behavior. Every staff member I encountered is a peach 🍑🤗 Shout out to Josy and Camille!
Not to mention, drinks are reasonably priced, a pony boy and shot is $8! The booths are nice to have too, whether it's for you and a couple friends of if you wanted to set up your laptop and get some shit done. I'm happy that Old North joined the community!!

My wife and I stumbled across this and we are happy we did! Any bar that’s focal point is the people instead of the TVs is a win for me, and the great cocktails were just the cherry on top 🍸

What a unique combination of a dive bar and a cocktail bar. Few places in the state offer such a value with the level of expertise.
I was given friendly service and recommended bespoke cocktails based on my personal taste. Truly a great experience and a place to elevate the charming district of Old North Durham.
