As Californians who fell in love with the siete mares soup at Ocha Thai back home, we’ve been on the hunt for a comparable one since 2021. We finally found it at ThaiAngle Restaurant! Their Po Tak soup, served in the traditional hot pot (just like the photo), blew us away. If you miss Ocha’s seafood lemongrass soup, you must try this. My husband is thrilled! We also enjoyed chicken satay, pad thai, fried rice, and the puff crab, which had an amazing curry cream cheese filling. The Thai tea was delicious as well. The staff was super friendly, and service was impressively quick for fresh-made food. If you’re from California or just love amazing Thai cuisine, this place is a gem. Five stars!

Thaiangle is the best in the Triangle. Attentive service, pretty wall art reminds of Bangkok and food that is fabulous I had a massaman curry and the rich curry, the large variety of vegetables along with toasted onion and peanut topping was to die for. I asked for Bangkok spicy but they didn’t seem to believe me and the spice was moderate

For parking, you will either have to park in a lot or find street parking. There was plenty of street parking on N Church Street and Cleveland Street which is located right behind the restaurant. My sister and I came in on a Friday night and we were pretty worried at first because there was a line almost out the door. But thankfully, we were seated within less than 10 minutes. We ordered the following: - Thai Iced Tea - Tom Kha Chicken - Pad See Ew The Thai iced tea was sweet and refreshing! As for the other 2 dishes, they were both delicious! I loved the presentation of the tom kha chicken and how the soup stayed nice and warm which is perfect for the chilly fall weather. I also appreciated how the soup was filled with mushrooms, chicken, and bamboo. And with all the lemongrass and spices used, every sip was fantastic! Pad See Ew is always a safe/classic option when you don’t know what to order. My sister and I enjoyed this savory and satisfying noodle dish. Not to mention, the portion size is huge- we even had to take some home. The dishes came out within 15 minutes of placing the order so I appreciate how fast and diligent the workers and cooks were despite it being so busy! Everything we ordered here was delicious and I can’t wait to come back again!

Great Thai food in a very central location. Perfect spot for a quality dinner and then exploring the downtown Durham area. Good service and delicious food, worth a stop.

One of the best Thai restaurants we’ve eaten…great service with smiles, clean and quick service. We love noodles so we had the pad see ew, drunken noodles, pad Thai, noodles in braised beef broth, shrimp tom yum soup, fried wontons, fried calamari…everything was cooked to perfection and the noodle dishes all came with generous beef slices, great value for money…definitely going back if we’re in the area again.

Great Thai food restaurant in Durham. The main dish have a spice rating that was easy to understand unlike other Thai restaurants. Now the food was fantastic and quick. We did eat on a Thursday after 6pm and it started getting crowded so I would get there early. Oh they also have a lunch menu I am going to have to try.

When a restaurant in a college town is packed with patrons who are not college students, you might be on to something special. We arrived on a Sunday evening right at opening time and were very fortunate to be seated. The staff/ family were super friendly and accommodating. And the most important thing, the food, was next level delicious. Could not recommend a restaurant more. If you are in Durham, and you love Thai food, Thai Angle is a must!

I haven't been to a Thai restaurant in quite awhile as I'm always disappointed with the food and the portions, but my son's finally convinced me to try this place and boy was I impressed! The food is amazing and generous, the staff are warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's become one of my favorite restaurants in Durham, and trust me that's saying a lot! I highly recommend the Beef Bowl for you meat eaters out the and I've attached a photo to boot.

A former Mexican restaurant turned into a lovely Thai restaurant. The menu has both familiar and unique dishes. The service is always very good whether they are busy or not and the food is tasty!

Atmosphere and service were great, however the two dishes we ordered were subpar. The pineapple fried rice had an excellent amount of yellow curry powder, however the chicken was dry and thin. The dish overall was a bit over cooked, missing a good amount of raisins and the pineapple was a bit dry. The other dish, mushroom and broccoli, was overly salted. But everything on that dish was otherwise cooked well. Overall, there are definitely better Thai places for those two dishes, however it was a nice looking restaurant with friendly staff.

Went here for lunch with my husband, very fair priced lunch specials, flavor was AMAZING, it’s now our top favorite Thai place in Durham. Spice lever was also great. I got the Panang Curry (Medium spice) and my Husband got the Pad Thai (no spice, nice sweetness). The mango juice wasn’t anything special but still good, but my husband liked the Thai ice tea and their wontons are so crispy definitely a must!! We’ll be coming back again as regulars for sure!

Excellent food and stellar service. Appreciate having such a fantastic Thai place close to home. They are very busy but the way they run like a well oiled machine you can tell this is their norm.
