Redstart Foods TAKEAWAY
Phone: (919) 237-3086
Overview
If you feel overwhelmed with all the national meal kit delivery services out there, why not go local? Redstart Foods formed in 2015 as a scratch made, local meal delivery and catering service offering farm-forward fare to the Triangle area. The best part about their food is that it’s fully prepared, requiring no extra prep or cook time in the kitchen. Now, even better, you can shop at their new physical storefront located in North Durham, adjacent to the Redstart kitchen. Grab a meal to go from the retail fridge; order breakfast, lunch or weekend dinner for dine-in or take out; grab a cup of coffee and a fresh pastry, or shop for beer, wine and pantry goods in the market section.

Redstart foods are always giving excellent flavor. My 10 year old insisted that I write a 5-star review on her behalf, so these are her words:
Some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. The bacon is perfect. The English muffin is really soft and scrumptious. The pickles are also really good—sweet and tart—and I love how you made them. -
Delicious food! Cant believe I had not tried this place before. They do "upscale" prepared meals - think restaurant quality and not as expensive. Their restaurant offers simple but amazingly prepared foods. Their eating area is slightly cafeteria-like, but I'll definitely be coming back for their delicious squash, potatoes and chicken. They also served a hefty portion of pickles with dinner (I love pickles!) They have a limited selection of drinks on tap, and a limited but comprehensive selection of things from their fridge - beer, wine, NA cocktails, juices, fizzy water, etc -
We came for their new dinner service around 6:30. The food came out quickly. I ordered the quarter chicken and the green been salad (special). The quarter chicken that is served with pickles, cabbage, and potatoes is a fantastic value (12.50) for the high quality of food. Everything we had was seasoned well and the roasted chicken was very moist. The sides all complimented the chicken very well and felt like a truely balanced meal.
The value and quality is difficult to beat. Overall, I would definitely return for dinner.
If you’re interested in breakfast, I highly recommend getting the Egg and cheese with pickles and their smoked hot sauce! -
Sara s easily one of the most attentive and hard-working people I've seen at a food establishment. Sara goes out of her way to make sure that you feel appreciated and your needs are being met. I'm not from around here but whenever I'm back in North Carolina I will make sure to stop here grab a coffee from next door and a delicious breakfast sandwich. -
Ok, the hype is real: the English muffin sandwiches are phenomenal. Popped in to grab a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon and I’m already scheming how to make this a regular weekday stop before work or for lunch periodically. Park around back to avoid the business on Roxboro!
