In a crunch to find a room quickly I went with what I knew to be a sure thing. It's a great location for bus riders and drivers as well as bike/walkers. Clean rooms and fantastic and friendly staff. Good coffee always on tap and vending with variety for late night cravings. Laundry facilities but only a couple of machines so truly only emergency use. Quiet and friendly guests. Pets allowed, ice when you need it. Large Fridge and microwave make it

I really don't expect a lot from a 2 star hotel other than a half way decent place to sleep and wash up. This didn't even meet that. I had reserved an accessible room. The room had a bathtub, not a walk-in/roll-in shower option - easy enough to work around. But that wouldn't have made any difference, because while the water turned on and off for the bathtub, the diverter to have the water flow to the shower head didn't work at all! So even though I wanted to take a shower, I couldn't. And then, there weren't even any towels to dry yourself off with anyway! There was one hand towel and one washcloth, no bath towels - and no hairdryer either to dry yourself off without a towel. The room reeked of marijuana which is still illegal in NC. While the location is super convenient, this is definitely not someplace I would ever stay again.

Best affordable hotel in Chapel Hill/Durham! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Nothing fancy, just clean rooms and a safe environment. Plus, the location is central to both Chapel Hill and Durham. I highly recommend Red Roof Chapel Hill/Durham!

Honestly, I had a great stay. Maybe the AC set at 68 was a touch too low, but as hot as it has been, I didn't want to futz with it. There was a mini fridge, a safe, place to put clothes, the shower was great this morning. I got to watch a couple episodes of Counting Cars on television before falling asleep. I slept very well in a comfortable bed. There were plenty of outlets to charge my devices. I'm glad I chose to stay here.

What can you say...can't expect a fancy stay for 80$. The bleach smell was awful..lots of shady people hanging out..looking in window & very noisy. This was going ALL night. I suspected bed bugs (saw casings), ceiling had a water leak bubble, rust on the bathroom wall. Front desk was a bit snarky/rude when I requested a ground floor (due to my mothers bad knees). Pillows were flat, heavy hospital type sheets and bed was clearly old and extremely uncomfortable...you wont sleep..I know I couldnt. Don't go if you are able to put out a few more bucks for a better place in town...I definitely won't be returning.

NO: There was NO additional comment made about a fee for early check in. Just a blank stare and "Check in is at 3pm". Sooo..yes I left to come back to check in at 3. As stated in my review my mother cannot do stairs due to bad knees. When I checked in and confirmed the first floor room..the Response again was snarky: "Yes I HAVE to give it to you because you requested it!". Therfore if that is accommodating...I dealt with it BUT WILL NOT be returning.
