Standard Italian fare in strip mall building.V very good service from the waitress. Plenty of nice meals, all served with side of pasta. Most potions were very big and plenty of to go boxes filled with leftovers. I tried the meatballs as an appetizer. The marina says was a little tangy and needed longer cooking to tame it. Had a dinner salad with skipjack tuna that was just ok. Will come again to try a pasta dish. Until then, just 3 stars. -
Let me start by saying I'm a foodie and very picky about my food, AND I love Italian food. So, when I say my whole meal was delicious, trust that it's worth your time to stop in and give it a try!
While the restaurant itself is ok with reasonable decor, the restrooms need some TLC. That being said, the food made me forget all about the ambiance. First, there was some deliciously soft bread served with one of the most flavorful tomato dipping sauces I've ever tasted. When I first saw it, the bread didn't look very appetizing and the sauce looked questionable, but one taste and I was sold! In fact, they should bottle and sell the stuff - I would buy it by the jar!!!
The calamari was cooked perfectly! It was super tender and not overly breaded. The rings were nice and thick and tasty. The marinara that came with it was pretty good, but I dipped it in the tomato bread sauce and thought I would pass out-- delicious!!! Hint, hint to management, try serving the calamari with this sauce. It's an incredible combination.
I ordered the fettuccine carbonara with shrimp for my entree and it was fabulous. The freshly made pasta made all the difference. Well done!
My only complaint is that the tiramisu was really small, about half the size I would expect. Despite this, prices were pretty reasonable.
Overall, the food was great and I will definitely put Pulcinella's on my go-to list! -
I stopped in today to pick up dinner to eat in my hotel room. The staff was incredible helpful when ordering. I ordered the cheese ravioli, with meat sauce. It was delicious. My husband hates marinara, but I love it. Tonight I was able to wallow in marinara sauce without comment. I will be black to this place. The food is outstanding. -
We decided to try this restaurant for lunch for the first time yesterday as we were in Durham for the day. We were pleasantly surprised. It was not busy at all and had booths and tables. Our waitress (didn't get her name) was polite and attentive without being overbearing. The food was very good. You get bread with a dipping sauce, and we both got the lunch size eggplant parmesan. It was very filling and came with a side of penne noodles with marinara sauce which was very fresh tasting like it was made with fresh ripened tomatoes. The eggplant parmesan had a little crunch to it, and the texture with the taste of the marinara sauce was succulent. The sweet tea with lemon was very tasty as well. I just had to get one to go. The best part was we paid $26 ($32 with tip) for our meal. That's cheaper than Chick-fil-A. I also ended up with leftovers to take home. Overall we enjoyed it and will return again when we are in the area. -
I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever had Italian food this incredible in my life. From the very first bite, I was completely blown away. Every flavor was so rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced that I honestly wanted to slow down just to make the meal last longer. The pasta was absolutely phenomenal, the sauce was bursting with flavor, and everything tasted like it was made with genuine love and passion.
This wasn’t just a good meal—it was an experience. Every single bite made me appreciate Italian food on a whole different level. I left completely satisfied, already wishing I could go back and eat it all over again. If I could give this place more than five stars, I absolutely would. Without a doubt, the best Italian food I have ever eaten. Truly unforgettable.
