Omie’s is a cozy place to have a coffee or pastry with friends. They offer a solid, simple menu and work with other local businesses to provide flavor options! They have a brief seasonal menu and some daily specials. The barista made great recommendations! Prices were around $5-6 for a 12-16oz drink. If you’re earth conscious, Omie’s is too with compost and recyclable options when you’re finished. Most seating sections fit 2-4 people; there are padded and hardwood seats. The seats are somewhat low and may be difficult to get in and out of for some people. The bathroom should be wheelchair accessible and there is a bar by the toilet. There are sections with large windows for natural light and sections without which may be favorable if you have sensory concerns. The road noise can be a bit loud since the location is right on a busy street. They also have a small children’s play area if you want to come here with kiddos! Parking is tight and immediately off of Roxboro St. However, there is a shopping center directly across the street with a large parking lot that is easily accessible via a lighted crosswalk. It’s relatively close to downtown Durham if that’s your destination but a bit far to walk. Overall, Omie’s is a light and airy place with a relaxed atmosphere.

Really good espresso and drip coffee! The best part for us was their toddler and kid play area right next to comfy seating in the roasting room. Other perks were definitely the thoughtful space and low waste system (reusable towels in bathroom, labeled compost/recycle/etc, self serve lids on cups), and the really tasty laminated croissant style pull-apart apple muffin. I’ll definitely be getting a bag of beans next time we come.

I’ve been to Omie’s a bunch, but I don’t live close enough to be a regular (wish I did!) They have a rotating seasonal menu with some fun drinks, recently there was an eggnog latte and brown butter latte. The staff is always friendly, and they take care to make the drinks well. A great coffee shop, that takes pride in their beverages.

I looked at some of the reviews and had to stop by since I was in the area. A M A Z I N G! The atmosphere was calming and relaxing, a great place to work on papers while sipping well made lattes. I received a sample of one of the coffees that they were selling and just had to buy it. The Barista was friendly and super informative. Above all else one they compost! Trash bags are compostable, all single use plastic is compostable, and of course the coffee. I love a business that thinks about the environment and puts the effort in the small things. If you haven't already been definitely check this place out ☕❤️

A place to enjoy specialty coffee. Omies shines brightest in their top quality, roasted on-site coffee. They serve it in a classic modern specialty coffee atmosphere: clean, minimalist, sufficient seating, play space for small children. Creative (delicious) seasonal craft drinks. Also offer a small selection of pastries.

So glad to have stopped when traveling through Durham. Welcomed with a warm smile, lovely conversation and coffee. Can’t wait to try the coffee beans I bought while on vacation!

Omie's is a very cute coffee shop in a renovated garage. The interior is well designed with plenty of seating including some seats facing out the front windows. Staff was quick and friendly as well. The espresso of my cappuccino was good, but the milk wasn't really frothed right so it felt more like I was having a small latte. All in all, I'd come here again, but I wasn't blown away.

The coffee here is, of course, very good. But I really appreciate how friendly the entire staff is (and how they obsessively dial in the espresso) and the environment that creates. They did a great job subdividing the spaces to give people a place to work without disrupting the social environment of the other spaces. It's just a well-thought-out and well-designed space with great drinks and a nice lil' selection of stuff to eat. Bonus points for having the roaster in space where you can watch!
