I had a wonderful experience taking the barista 101 class with Casey. She was very thorough and answered all of the questions that I had. This class taught me how to properly dial my first shot! I highly recommend her class!
On side note I have been here several times for coffee. It’s amazing!

Mid Bloom Coffee is a hidden gem in Durham. Great coffee and great people. We first stopped in for a few coffees which were great, made with locally roasted beans. Then, signed up for a private all things coffeeclass with the owner. Such an awesome experience for a home coffee enthusiast to be able to learn from an expert in a fun and engaging environment. Can't recommend this enough!

I like the location, the atmosphere. My tea was good, I got the blueberry hibicus tea. The vegan coffee cake was delicious, and so was the blueberry lemon muffins and the orange cranberry muffin. I recommend giving this place a chance!

Best coffee in Durham plus good vibes from the staff. Love the lavender latte and right now sipping on the seasonal sun kissed latte with orange blossom syrup. Yum. Their coffee isn’t weak like other places around. Good parking lot despite being right in downtown.

James with Offline - Located in the common market, Mid Bloom Coffee is a small little Coffee bar. I got one of the seasonal lattes with orange blossom syrup and oat milk! And a blueberry lemon muffin too! Decent seating inside, and wasn't too packed around 9am. Will come back again!

Love this speciality coffee shop. Delicious drinks made by wonderful baristas. One of the best coffee shops in Durham. They also have barista classes, which I took the other day and got to learn a bunch about making espresso and steaming coffee. The image is from the latte I made after taking the barista class :)

I recently attended a group coffee cupping class and it completely exceeded my expectations. Casey, owner of Mid-Bloom was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through each step of the tasting process in a way that was both approachable and insightful.
We sampled a variety of beans, learned about the process and story behind each blend, and were educated on the proper cupping techniques. The environment was relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for both beginners and more experienced coffee lovers.
I left with a deeper appreciation for coffee and the complex process behind every cup. Highly recommend this class to anyone curious about coffee or looking for a fun and educational group activity!

This coffee shop has everything! Great community vibes. Great customer service. Great coffee. Great pastries. The owner is wonderful. I especially enjoy their americanos - perfectly dialed in espresso that’s balanced and dynamic, with a smooth body. The crema sits on top like a perfect little cloud. They also have really fun and creative specials! Common Market is lucky to have them. Happy to support this cutie local shop!

This review is for barista training that my daugher and I took in Durham last night from Casey (Mid Bloom owner). We had a wonderful experience! Casey covered all aspects of dialing in espresso, milk frothing, and machine care. We are mainly home coffee enthusiasts, but I really loved learning on a real commerial setup (La Marzocco, etc...). Thank you Casey for a wonderful experience!

Easily my favorite coffee shop in Durham. The drinks are always fantastic, the folks who work there are great, and the environment is wonderful for anything from hanging out to do some work, to sitting read a book, to having a hang with some friends.
It also being in Common Market means you can grab a sandwich from the deli if you’d like to as well. Perfect.
If you don’t feel like drinking in, service is speedy for take out and there’s always ample parking in the car park or nearby streets.

My husband and I took the barista class with Casey, and learned so much! Casey is very knowledgeable about all things coffee, and it is clear that her passion and expertise have translated into Mid-Bloom. Highly recommend the class offered at Mid-Bloom as well as stopping in for a truly delicious coffee beverage.

I love mid bloom coffee so much! they are some of the friendliest baristas in town and their service is always quick even when they're super busy. sometimes I don't even order and just drop in to say hello. their salted caramel latte is to die for and they have the best chai latte in town, hands down - it's so strong and flavorful. if you love coffee and friendly people mid bloom is your spot. 💜

I tend to hop around the triangle to different coffee shops to work and such but I’ve had good coffee and friendly chats with the staff every time I come in. The pistachio mocha is particularly good!

Top-notch local coffee shop (and woman-owned — we love to see it)! My partner and I took the Barista 101 class and learned a ton. Highly recommend.
