The falafel will melt in your mouth here. Hidden away in the Parkwood neighborhood since 2014, this spot is owned by three men who are committed to made-from-scratch gyros, baklava and other Mediterranean delicacies.

During our first visit to Durham we were recommended this eatery as a hidden gem. It was amazingly good. My wife and I had a falafel platter and chicken kabob with sides. Large portions, low prices, and I have never had better versions of falafel or chicken kabobs in any city. The spices were perfect. The eggplant side had a slightly sweet but amazing taste. I finished with the best baklava I have had in 20 years. The grill is a little out of the way, they have inside and outside seating, but well worth the trip

Wonderful gem of a little Mediterranean restaurant tucked away in a small shopping plaza! They have delectable authentic food, served hot, quickly, and in quite generous portions! I wasn't familiar with all the spices and sauces, but WOW! I ended up getting three kabob platters to go. Everything was supremely delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could visit every day. I also really enjoyed getting to browse the grocery section for some additional goodies to bring home (especially the guava nectar juice!). The staff were pleasant, helpful, professional, and polite. The seating area was small and unremarkable, but there is some covered outdoor seating available as well. Parking was ample and close. The restaurant/grocery store is not easy to see from the parking lot, but it's very close. I had a craving for Mediterranean food while out running errands, and I'm so glad to have discovered this great hidden restaurant/grocery store. I can't wait to go back!

I had the gyro with the rice and lentils side. They were all flavorful and hot. The person who took my order was welcoming and patient in describing what was in each dish. The restaurant is in the grocery store. There was nothing wrong with it, but you would not describe it as chic or bustling vibe. It was quiet, the colors were muted, and the set up was very casual. It would be a great place to have a solo meal or small group meal.

The Jalepeno poppers are perfect and the sauce is really good too. The Chicken Kabob platter was also excellent. For my sides i got the roasted potatos and the mujadara and they were both very flavorful and well cooked. The pita bread was also very well made. This place is a 10/10.

My fiance and I started coming here when we moved to the area and it has quickly become our favorite place to grab a delicious lunch or dinner. We like to bring friends and family here, too. The food is consistently fantastic—we especially LOVE the falafel pita and the curry chicken platter. You can’t go wrong with the sides, they are all delicious. The hummus is silky and rich, and the baba ghanoush is incredibly flavorful. The outdoor garden is the perfect cherry on top! We love to sit under the gorgeous trees while we eat our food. 11/10 recommend Mediterranean Grill & Grocery :)

All things considered, maybe my favorite bites from a recent 10 days all over the area including at other, fancier Middle Eastern places. My chicken shawarma sandwich was big, stuffed, in perfectly lightly grilled fresh pita and tasty as I’ve had anywhere. The humus and baba that my wife got were fresh and delicious. Very nice, friendly, welcoming service by the young staff. Super good all around and highly recommended!

Great pita sandwiches and cabob plates. A friendly little shop to visit for some tasty food. Menu is relatively small with some traditional Mediterranean favorites.

The food was fresh and fast... and the MJ rice was so flavorful. I also love the falafel and combo lamb platter.

Really great food! Excellent staff and atmosphere. Highly recommend Kofta and Ginger Chicken Cous Cous Soup. Chicken Shwarma is great too. Plenty of free parking. Current Sanitation Rating is 99.5.
