Legs For Days Lollipop Chicken Shack
Phone: (919) 251-9916
The annex connected to the Lakewood building currently home to Lula and Sadie’s has always offered an additional space for casual culinary creativity. The father/son team behind the restaurant is using the spot for their latest culinary venture: Legs for Days, which offers something different than your classic wing shack. The deep-fried, crispy lollipop chicken drumsticks are tossed in a variety of signature wet and dry rubs ranging from mild to spicy, with dipping sauces to suit your liking. Sides include fresh-made rosemary fries and classic cole slaw or potato salad.

We love a no-frill place that prioritizes the food above all. We ordered a 12-piece with 4 different tossing sauces - all tasted amazing: super crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. We had some amazing rosemary-topped fries on the side, but the star of the side bites were those half-pickled peppers woahhh.
- Nicely priced, 12 pieces for $22
- Staff were super friendly and helpful.
- Everything is clean and neat.
- Will definitely return. Highly recommend! -
"YUM! We had the pleasure of trying three distinct flavors: Thai Chili, Old Bay, and Honey Rosemary. Each flavor brought its own unique twist, with the perfect balance of seasoning and spice. Initially, we thought dipping sauces might be needed, but the seasoning was so spot on that no sauce was necessary! The wings were crispy on the outside and tender inside, cooked to absolute perfection.
We paired them with the rosemary fries and coleslaw, and both sides complemented the wings beautifully. The rosemary fries were crispy, and well-seasoned, while the coleslaw added a refreshing crunch. Highly recommend!"
Ordering secret - go in and order your food and set you phone for 20 minutes. Then go next door to Lula and Sadie for a drink at the bar. -
It’s a 100% gluten free kitchen! The lunch special is $12 and includes a drink, 3 legs with the sauce and rub of your choice, a big pile of rosemary fries, sauce for dipping, and a canned drink.
My chicken was covered in a sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce. They were perfectly crunchy and delicious - even my gluten-eating husband thought the chicken was fantastic. -
We are a party of 7 and arrived at the restaurant at around 6 on a Friday night with no other customers in the restaurant. However, after ordering 36 pieces of chicken legs, the waitress told us they are out of chicken so couldn’t take any more orders.
When we asked for water, she told us there’s bottled water in the fridge right next to the counter and we can just grab the drinks we ordered and bottled water from the fridge (noting: she didn’t inform us that the water is not complimentary).
Not waiting too long, we got our chicken, which was decent enough and filling, and the rosemary fries was pretty good too. However, we found out they got one of our orders wrong (the chicken was made in a wrong flavor) and when we asked for clarification, they suddenly were able to make another set of chicken for us, which was surprising because they just told us they were out of chicken?????!!!!!!
What’s weird is that they asked us to return the wrong order, which is something we’ve never experienced at any restaurants. We then asked if we can make that wrong order to go instead of letting them taking it back to kitchen, the waitress said she will go back and check and took away the chicken with her. And about 20-30 minutes later, another waitress came back with only 1 chicken leg, and asked us who wanted to take this chicken. This is just annoying and odd to us, what happened to the other two pieces of chicken, and why would any customers want something taken away and brought back half an hour later???????????
ALSO, they charged a 20% “living wage”, neither was this informed verbally, nor was it shown on the menus we saw. Without acknowledging that there’s this 20% being charged already, we tipped extra amount on top of it. We asked for clarification, and the staff told us this rule is shown on the door of the restaurant and the menus, which are not true as shown in the pictures below. Not even mention that we didn’t actually get much service from the waitress when we actually had to grab our own drinks from the fridge and orders from the serving plate.
The overall experience was terrible, we won’t come back. -
We ordered fries and two orders of chicken legs. The fries were fully cooked but pale and soggy. When I picked up a fry it just broke in half.
The chicken was crispy and nicely cooked, but way overloaded with seasoning. My wife got lemon pepper and I got Cajun. Both of them were caked with seasoning that made it almost inedible. Mine was very salty. Like someone just dumped a box of seasoning onto it. Anyway this place has some good reviews and maybe the cook was off duty and someone who shouldn’t have been in the kitchen made these.
