I have had very positive experiences with the Downtown Durham YMCA but recently went to the Lakewood YMCA for the first time. Staff member Erica went above and beyond to find me when I left my purse in one of their Lockers, despite having a unique membership situation that made me hard to find. That level of commitment and care for members is what makes me love the YMCA! Thank you, Erica!

Visiting from out of town and couldn’t find parking at the downtown y so I came to Lakewood. Super helpful and nice clerk at the front desk got me all setup for a non-member day pass while also taking care of other folks coming in. Really made the process easy and took time to answer my questions. It’s a smaller facility but the equipment was in good condition and well organized. I got a good workout, got to enjoy the sauna and steam room, and then take a shower. Nice locker room and setup!

The lakewood ymca is a gray place for kids and families I love this Ymca this is our go to Ymca my daughter did a week of soccer camp and I signed her up for a second week. We love the lakewood ymca and the staff is so very nice I would highly recommend your kids doing sports here or joining the gym and making this your main YMCA that you visit I absolutely love the staff here the location is very convenient it is very easy to get to from where we live and I just wanna let everyone know at lakewood ymca that I appreciate you.
