Broth: both Tonkatsu and shoyu was delicious one of the best I have had in the area
Egg: only half a egg so a little disappointed but very tasty
Pork: two nice sized pieces that taste very good and are tender. Not very fatty and has a nice color
Spice: no spice and the oil in the table while added some spice wasn’t strong
Noodles: very good noodles perfectly cooked
Toppings: all very good toppings including a fish cake which is always nice

Great local restaurant! The food was delicious and it was some of the best ramen I've had. The Agedashi Tofu was so good, crispy on the outside and soft and jiggly on the inside. We also had jasmine tea, which was very fragrant.

If you're craving authentic Japanese ramen, this spot is a must-visit! The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the quirky interior decor adds a fun touch. Plus, parking is a breeze with free spots along 9th St. or right across the street in the shopping center. And did I mention how quick and clean the service is? You'll be slurping in no time!

I love their dan dan ramen. I have had ramen all over the world and fell in love with their dan dan. The ramen has a comfortable, homemade feeling especially because the spicy topping with ground beef and carrots has a homemade texture (that I appreciate) compared to finely ground sauce. Other toppings are also spot on and the broth is very rich. I have not tried other items on the menu.
I prefer kiichi’s ramen to the named well known place in downtown durham.
I do think the ramen egg could be improved, sometimes its a little too well done. And the music inside is a bit too loud - they might also consider changing the genre of the music from edm to something that fits the vibe of the restaurant. I appreciate that it is an open kitchen and generally appreciate this restaurant being open on ninth street!

I loved experiencing the Grand Opening of Kiichi Ramen on 9th street. The food was delicious and the ambiance felt authentic and welcoming. Our waitress was very helpful with making sure that everyone chose something they would like. I will definitely be a consistent customer here as long as everything remains consistent with the service and flavor at Kiichi! I had the Seafood Ramen (I think that was the name of the dish) and it was delectable !!
Wishing this new local business YEARS OF MUCH SUCCESS!!

Overall:
It's new popular place in 9th St !
Been here twice since it has opened and it has been a great experience every time. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food tastes great and the service is pretty quick. We have tried the following: Fried Squid, Miso Ramen, Agedashi Tofu (hot fried Tofu), Takoyaki, Yakisoba Noodles, and Matcha Mochi Ice Cream. All the food items were very tasty. Top recommendation at 9th Street!

The broth had a really awesome depth of flavor. It was perfect on a cold, rainy day. They were EXTREMELY busy, but still managed to be friendly and get everything out in a decent amount of time.

Probably not the absolute best ramen you’ll ever have, but it was delicious, huge, with a great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend.

Excellent ramen options for the area! I'm happy we came here during their soft opening. Everyone was so attentive and happy to see customers coming in.
Their miso was fantastic and their tonkotsu is pretty good.
The eggs we got were slightly over point so the yolk wasn't runny in our case, but still great. Will definitely come back!

Went for their soft opening this week and had a great time! We started with the takoyaki - it was crispy, chewy, salty and sweet! After that we had the pork tonkatsu ramen and the shrimp tempura udon. The ramen was delicious! I loved how the broth wasn’t too salty and the portion of noodles was perfect. My favorite was the shrimp tempura udon. It has a clear broth but it’s still super flavorful. The tofu skin and shrimp tempura were SO good. Don’t forget to try some of the chili oil with it! Service was great, everyone was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely go back! I hope that they have alcoholic drinks available later on.

Best ramen I’ve had in Durham! We went for their soft opening and it was so busy we decided to try again the next night, and the staff remembered us when we came back and were so kind to us! Definitely have found my new go-to ramen spot!

I have been waiting for this restaurant to open for months and they're finally having their soft opening today. Came for dinner, there were already a full house. However, the service was top notch, I can tell they've been working hard all day but still very polite and happy. Of course I ordered my all time favorite - veggie tonkotsu ramen. The broth was tasty, they used the thin noodles which I love. Will come back very soon!
