I knew the food was going to be gas when I had to order at the front and pick it up in the back and spotted the singular table in the corner of the store to eat at. They do have some outdoor seating though, so it works out perfectly.
There’s no staff at that store; they’re your new family! You’ll always get an amazingly warm welcome when you walk in. When I asked him how he was doing, the wise older gentleman at the resister told me he didn’t want to be greedy and ask to be 100% good, but he didn’t want to be only 50/50 either. He thought 65/35 was a perfect ratio, and asked me how he can get to be at 65/35. I still owe him a good answer on that one 😂
The smell of the chicken cooking in the back had my mouth watering while I was browsing around the LOADED shelves. I mean, cram packed with hard-to-find middle eastern goodies. I picked up teas, candies, canned goods, olive oil, fresh cheeses, and some AMAZING spices and juices. Oh, and one of your new aunties at the store MAKES the infamous Dubai chocolate. You can’t leave that store without it. I promise if you try it, you’ll go back for more. The first fight me and my boyfriend got into was over who was eating the last bite of that insanely delicious chocolate bar.
I’ve been to many of the Mediterranean places in the Triad, and I don’t know how I didn’t find out about this place sooner. It’s a true NC gem. I’m bringing my Syrian bestie here next time. The chicken shawarma is a juicy little flavor bomb, and all the ingredients are fresh. The food was made with love, and you can taste it in every bite. We just got lunch there and now I’m going back to pick up dinner lmfao.

I’ve gotten the chicken shawarma bowl twice via the TooGoodToGo app and was pleased both times. It is a generous portion which makes two meals, and tasted fresh!

The made to order Dubai chocolate is very tasty. I expressed interest in trying it and they text to let me know it was ready about 2 days later. Place your order and give them a try if you’re looking for the Dubai chocolate. Just place your order at the front counter. They also sale different brands of Dubai bars with various price ranges at the counter.

This is a fantastic gem! I am still getting familiar with Durham as I have recently moved here from the West Coast. The woman that was working was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. For those that say prices are not on product, I would assume you could ask? Not only did they tell me prices but offered suggestions as well. It makes my heart happy to shop anywhere that the staff will engage and be attentive. Very good experience, especially if you are new to Durham. Top notch service.
