Overview
Pound for pound, Favors claims to be the best bakery in town. Favor Desserts was established in July 2004 in Durham, North Carolina by Master Baker Keijuane Hester and continues to serve the Triangle area and beyond. While offering traditional baker's products, they are most well known for red velvet cupcakes, 5-flavored pound cake, carrot cake and Italian creme cake, just to name a few.

Recently had a slice of their cake at a Business Expo my church hosted and their cake was absolutely out of this world. We had 3 different cakes slices and with each one they kept getting better and better. The lemon cake was our absolute favorite- so moist and fresh! Highly recommend!

Saw this company on some Facebook ads for NC state fair, so I screenshot it because I knew we were going the next day! We visited yesterday, the last day of fair and I found her! OF course I stopped!! We got Strawberry Crunch and Birthday Cake. It was amazing!! The cake texture was spot on, soft a fluffy! The icing was great also!! I wish I would've gotten a couple more lol! I didn't even get a picture of mine, the strawberry crunch lol It was gone! If I'm ever back up that way, I'd love to visit the store front!

Went on 05/04/2026. (First time here) for a pick up order. Honestly I was disappointed in the customer service provided. When I went no one was at the counter. I heard noise in the back so out of respect (I assume it was one person working) I waited. I didn’t wait no more or less than 5 mins but when approached I greeted the worker. No greeting was given back. I didn’t take it to heart so then I stated the name for the pick up order the guy pointed at the end of the counter for my order. Mind you it was no way I could’ve known it was for me cause the name was covered and I didn’t want to snoop through orders. I was heading out and said to the worker “have a great day”and no response was given back. I left out and thanked him. No response still. I got home to try the cake it was more icing than anything and unfortunately the cake was dry. I don’t normally do reviews. However, I support black own and was looking forward to trying them for about 2 weeks. Cause I saw them on TikTok. I had gotten off of work and headed straight there. No the worker there didn’t know that. I’ve worked in customer service for years and to extend kindness back isn’t that hard to do. Especially when you have customers eager to try your food…

The BEST cake I've ever eaten (and I've had alot). The pound cake was amazing (I had the 5 flavor one with coconut, rum, vanilla, etc). The Italian creme cake and red velvet were divine. Their cakes were the moistest, most flavorful cakes I ever had. I'm thinking about taking the two hour just to get some more. 😫

I'm particular about red velvet cake, and theirs is awesome!! Moist and the frosting is good too! I'm usually a cupcake person, so I've tried all flavors over the years. Other than the parking being tight sometimes, this is my recommended cake spot in the area.
