Durham Convention Center, managed by Spectra Venue Management, is premier event and meeting space located in the heart of downtown Durham. Our event space consists of two ballrooms, meeting rooms, and boardrooms, that can easily accommodate large conventions, multi-day meetings, single day events, and private boardroom meetings. Attendees can enjoy the walk-ability of featured downtown restaurants, unique hotels, local shops, and culturally rich art.

I had been there for Takewondo Class A tournament. During weekend parking was free and easy to access. Food was good too.

Maintained very clean. Lots of parking garage around. Parking fees on weekend is $5.

I’m here for a dance competition. There are hundreds of dancers and the A/C is not working. The temp inside the dressing room is unbearable. It’s 90 degrees outside and close to that inside. The concessions food is not adequately cooked and they won’t allow outside food. It’s awful.

The Durham Convention Center is part of the Marriot Hotel building and is a sizable location to hold any event. It is modern and well decorated with enough rooms spaces and dividers to set up for any activity. We were hosted by the Duke Children's Hospital Children's Miracle Network and the event area met and exceeded all expectations for the event.
Located in downtown Durham with a large parking garage conveniently located directly across the street, the convention center sits within walking distance of several great restaurants and eateries. The downtown area is filled with buildings both old and new that add a modern yet nostalgiac touch to the local area. -
Not a great event venue for a wedding. Promised the world and then as we proceeded through the event planning process just got worse and worse and worse. We had 500+ guests but they massively mismanaged the event. They cleared appetizers a full 30 minutes ahead of schedule before our main VIP wedding guests arrived. We also ran out of food even though we did a plated dinner with assigned meals. They lost the serving utensils before the cake cutting, the list goes on and on
The food at the food tasting was also completely different from what ended up being served. No sauce on the lamb, no seasoning, etc
If you're planning a wedding go elsewhere if you can! Unfortunately my parents booked this place because they had 600+ guests but very frustrating outcome
