Beautiful location, moderate level trail but it is very accessible, Dog friendly, and bathrooms are located at the beginning of the trail by the parking lot. The suspension bridge is a fun addition. -
This is my go to local hiking place. It’s a big enough area that even when there’s a lot of people there’s still plenty of space. The trails are limited, but easily accessible and pretty moderate - not problem for younger kids. You can go for a good 60 minute walk next to the water. There are always lots of turtles to see. I came across a couple of snakes this spring. It’s close enough that you can get there after work, but far enough away that you feel like you got away a little. -
A beautiful trail, even in the winter months. There’s plenty of wildlife, the riverfront is peaceful, and the suspension bridge is fun to walk across. Even for myself who’s afraid of heights, it wasn’t too high to make it across-it felt sturdy!
We came on a weekday and ran into only a handful of people the 2.5 hrs we walked - it was nice to feel relaxed and part of nature, and not that I need to hurry out of people’s way or get interrupted hearing others’ conversing from afar. -
Hiked the Cox Mountain Trail in April, and it was a great experience! The trail runs along the scenic Eno River and was in good condition. The swinging suspension bridge was a highlight and super fun. Highly recommend visiting this trailhead! -
Very peaceful trail, have been here a few times and there’s not too much foot traffic on this trail. The time I went with my friend, we saw so many critters on the trail! The trail is relatively easy, there are definitely some uphill, but they are not too difficult. The trail is almost completely shaded except for two small spots on the loop where you can view the towers, which is pretty cool. I would recommend this trail for families, children, and pets for sure!
