The Cox Mountain Trail is a 4.1 mile loop trail within Eno River State Park that is very popular for hiking, running, and walking. The trail is moderately challenging and features a unique swinging cable bridge.

Hiked the Cox Mountain Trail in April, and it was a great experience! The trail runs along the scenic Eno River and was in good condition. The swinging suspension bridge was a highlight and super fun. Highly recommend visiting this trailhead!

Beautiful location, moderate level trail but it is very accessible, Dog friendly, and bathrooms are located at the beginning of the trail by the parking lot. The suspension bridge is a fun addition.

My family did a quick hike of the 4 mile Cox Mountain trail. Mountain is a bit of an overstatement, but it is a big hill for the area. Well maintained trail. River is always pretty. Lots of people and dogs on the trail - you aren’t going to find solitude. Overall, great for a bit of exercise, but not spectacular scenery or particularly isolated.
