During the pandemic, the world was not doing well. I felt dejected by church experiences and needed a change in the type of church I was attending. I kept running into the same blocks of not being able to use my gifts, as the complentarian churches attended only seemed to think I was fit to watch children. I found out about Blacknall through an odd podcast connection and entered with caution. I found warmth, healing, and the preached word of God that touched my heart where I felt dead. The pastor preached a sermon that snapped me back into place and moved me in a ways I thought were dead. I've been a member for 3 years now and have never regretted it. I never thought I would go to a presbyterian church, but in Blacknall I found what I needed. I feel seen, appreciated, and valued for my gifts. I don't feel half of a person because I'm not married or a mother. And I can bring my whole self and use the gifts I was given.
