I have been going to ActiveEdge for over 10 years. It is a fun and supportive environment. They do a great job tailoring your plan to your goals and keeping you safe with correct form and instruction. Highly recommend. -
I've been training with the team at Active Edge for almost a decade, and I can honestly say this place is something special.
What immediately stands out is the people. Jackson, Melissa, and Dillon each bring their own personality, energy, and coaching style to every session. They're knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely fun to be around. The atmosphere feels more like spending time with friends who happen to be helping you get stronger than it does going to a traditional gym.
Brian Diaz, who runs Active Edge, deserves special recognition. Brian has been a constant presence throughout my entire time here. He's an eccentric, fun-loving personality who somehow manages to motivate people while making them laugh at the same time. His passion for fitness and for the community he's built is obvious the moment you walk through the door.
The real magic of Active Edge is how personalized everything feels. The trainers don't force everyone into the same program or philosophy. They adapt their coaching style and programming to fit each individual's goals, experience level, and personality. Whether you're trying to lose weight, improve balance, build strength, increase athletic performance, run faster, jump higher, or hit a specific milestone, they know how to build a plan that works.
What also sets Active Edge apart is the community. This isn't a "bro gym" and it isn't one of those intimidating fitness environments where everyone is trying to outdo each other. Most of the members are friendly, working professionals simply trying to improve themselves at their own pace. People are welcoming, supportive, and genuinely happy to be there.
One thing I've noticed over the years is how many members stick around long-term. You'll see the same people working with the same trainers year after year, progressing through new programs and new goals. That's rare in the fitness industry. Most people hire a trainer for a few sessions, get frustrated, and move on. At Active Edge, there's a real bond between the staff and the clients, and that relationship keeps people engaged and successful.
The coaching itself is outstanding. The team works with some of the top athletes in the area, and their approach is rooted in science, evidence, and proven training principles—not whatever fitness trend is currently popular on YouTube. They know what they're doing, and they know how to explain it in a way that makes sense.
If you're considering joining, Meredith at the front desk is incredibly friendly and helpful. She'll work with you to find a trainer and schedule that fits your needs.
There's also an entire rehabilitation side of the facility that I can't personally speak to, but it always seems busy with athletes and clients working through recovery programs, which speaks volumes about the trust people place in the staff.
And finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the music. Active Edge has the best gym playlist I've ever encountered. The genres are eclectic, the vibe is always right, and the staff takes music selection almost as seriously as they take training programs.
After nearly ten years, Active Edge feels less like a gym membership and more like being part of a community. If you're looking for expert coaching, a welcoming atmosphere, and a place where people genuinely care about your success, I can't recommend it highly enough. -
I've been coming to Active Edge for many years with two other tennis players, all of us over 65. The individual trainers are great- special shout out to Melissa. They adapt to our needs as older women who are still very active and want a variety of exercises to help keep us healthy and running around the court. The PT folks are very skilled as well. I appreciate the variety of ages and fitness levels around the facility. -
18 months in and I can honestly say ActivEdge has completely changed my relationship with fitness. I walked in essentially off the couch and, through consistent strength training, I’ve reached a level of fitness I didn’t think was realistic for me. A huge part of that is my primary trainer, Jackson Wright — he programs smart, pushes me at the right moments, and has a real eye for form. My progress is a direct reflection of his coaching.
What sets ActivEdge apart is the flexibility. I do mostly semi-private training with Jackson, which is genuinely great value — you get real coaching and programming at a rate that makes showing up multiple times a week sustainable. When I want to dial things up, I add in 1:1 personal training sessions. And when I struggled with some tennis elbow last year and ongoing shoulder soreness, I was able to see a physiotherapist in the same building and get a proper exercise plan to work around it. That kind of seamless handoff between training and rehab — under one roof — is rare and made a huge difference in keeping my momentum.
The team itself is tight-knit, experienced, and genuinely friendly. You can tell when staff actually like working somewhere, and it shows in how invested they are in your progress. The clientele reflects it too: a great mix of ages and genders, plenty of long-term members who’ve been training here for years, alongside newcomers finding their feet. There are also interns around the floor offering free assistance, which speaks to how seriously they take coaching development.
If you’re looking for a sterile big-box gym where nobody knows your name, this isn’t it. If you want a place where the trainers know your goals, your form, and your history — and where you can grow from total beginner to strong and confident — I can’t recommend ActivEdge, Jackson, and the rest of the team enough. -
After being absent from regular gym workouts for about 5 years, I was apprehensive about starting again and unsure of my abilities. Now after working with Jackson for the last 5 months, I am so glad I have joined ActivEdge. He has tailored a fitness program specific to my goals and I am feeling stronger and more confident each week. The atomosphere in the gym is fun and supportive. Lots of laughs and encouragement from everyone there.....I highly recommend!
