Take the bull by the horns.

Are you a business owner or event organizer with an event that you'd like to add to the Durham event calendar? Submit the event information below for consideration.

GUIDELINES

Events will be considered on a case-by-case basis, but here are some general questions to consider before submitting.

Is your event accessible and welcoming to all? Is it likely to draw folks to Durham from near and far? Does it embody the spirit of the Bull City? Is it representative of our culture and community? Chances are that it qualifies as an event for the Discover Durham calendar.

Events should have the following qualities:

  • Supports tourism in our region and draws visitors
  • Encourages visitor spending and tax generation within Durham County
  • Accessible to the general public.

Events NOT likely to be considered include exceedingly localized events like summer camp programs or membership-based events, exclusionary religious/political events, or product demonstrations and sales events whose primary purpose is to sell or promote the products or services of a single business. If you have any questions at all about whether your event meets these criteria, please contact us.

LOVE DURHAM EVENT GUIDELINES

Approved Love Durham Events Will Have One or More of the Following:

  • The event title or description references “Love Durham” and ties into the campaign’s spirit or messaging
  • The event aligns with the Love Durham mission — supporting small businesses, celebrating local culture — and is open to the public
  • The event features or uplifts Durham-based creators, businesses, artists, or traditions, helping residents and visitors feel more connected to the local community.

Not an Approved Love Durham Event:

  • Hosted by a large business or national chain that does not reflect the grassroots, community-focused nature of the campaign
  • The event is private, invite-only, or does not invite public participation, especially if it doesn’t promote local engagement or Durham pride.

      Is the event you're submitting a regularly recurring event? If so, please submit the event information in the form below with the date and time of the first event. Then, please email eventcalendar@discoverdurham.com with the event title and recurring date and time for us to input it into the calendar.
